Actually we did not assist them. We outright supplied them with chemical weapons. As a matter of fact after the 1993 gulf war Iraq agreed to give up all WMD programs. Since blind hatred towards the US blinds some people, the US and UK, among a few other countries, maintained the no fly zones in Iraq aftrer that war. Iraq agreed to cooperate with the UN, which they failed to follow through on.

Since you seem to be ignoring it, I will say it again. Iraq had a WMD program in violation of their agreements signed in 1993. Wikileaks confirmed Iraq had an active WMD program up to the 2003 invasion, and since then they had found wmd items up until our withdraw.

Again you should get your facts straight. Iraq said they gave them up at the end of the 1st gulf war. Turns out they lied.

Which has nothing to do with the topic - That the US lied when we went into Iraq. Wikileaks confirmed there were wmd programs still active.

In case you are confused and meant nuclear power plants the UN program designed to assist nations who wish to develop a nuclear energy program uses blueprints from the US, Russia, France etc etc etc. Once again you are blinded by your issues with the US and ignore all other info that doesnt suport your position.

Yeah having a Russian national as a double agent for the CIA who identifies an intentional flaw in the design so it blows up in the Iranians face, who then corrects the flaw to assist the Iranains, doesnt equate into your accusation.

The answer is yes it is the same lie.

The U.S supplied Iraq with WMD and the expertise, that expertise does not vanish when they are told not to play with them anymore. You teach a crazy dictator how to build WMD bad things will happen.

I think if the U.S gave plans to the Iranians then it is fair to put some blame there. I don't believe these actions were stupid, these were actions intended to entrap Iran.

Everyone should read 'State of War' by James Risen these whistleblowers keep coming.. The only way to prevent getting bumped off is to write a book and get it out there quickly!

Sanctions..

Sanctions are designed to kill people and destabilize a country. In the end the sanctions kill more people than the dictator they are trying to depose.
