An Italian orbital X Ray observatory is set to reenter the atmosphere on an equatorial track. It is over 400 kilograms, and will likely survive reentry relatively intact.

Leave it up to the Italians to build such a masterpiece, that it can survive re-entry!

Clearly ahead of things (perhaps a new rennaissance??). You never know.

Well, it is true of Italian vehicals, I guess it is true of most of thier equipment:

It works wonderfully, or not at all.
