The only way Alaska can do that is because they are selling something on the open market, then of course the population of Alaska is not 330 million.

No, you ignore the truth. The highest profits, sure, but still around 10% which is not eggregious by any sort of measure. You maximize profit by finding the balance between increased prices and decreased demand. If you price your products too high, demand and profit will fall. The truth of the matter is that the oil companies are not causing these price increases.

Here is a video of Obama campaigning on higher gas prices so that alternative energy sources can compete. He wants high gas prices. It is just inconvenient right before election. If he is elected the price will go up much higher.
