Greetings, ATS!
Today is World Smile Day! And since I'm hopelessly addicted to all things smiley, I had to share.
World Smile Day began as a way to celebrate Harvey Ball, the creator of the iconic smiley face. It is always held on the first Friday in October. So
now you have a reason to celebrate today!
Now, I'm sure most of you know this, bc I mention it constantly, but I'm a teacher. And my classroom is full of smiley faces. Why? Mirror neurons,
my friends.
Mirror neurons are amazing. Have you ever had to talk to a grouchy, scowling person? You probably started to feel grumpy yourself, because mirror
neurons act as a mirror to others' feelings and expressions. Which is why it's practically impossible to watch a video of a laughing baby and not
begin to laugh yourself.
So celebrate World Smile Day, and spread those smiles!
