So, what do ya think here ATS? 2 men banned for life because they ate too much at an all-u-can-eat buffet.

Two men who spent the last couple of years as regulars at an all-you-can-eat-buffet have been banned for life after the owner accused them of being too greedy.

"Basically they just come in and pig out. We have put up with them for two years but I've had enough."

But the friends have a different side of the story. Their complaint: the bowls are just to small. Dalmon told the paper: "They've only got small bowls and you can't get enough in there so we always go back for more." The two were embarrassed in front of the other customers when the owner went, as Dalmon claimed, "absolutely mental.

As a food take out owner and previous restaurant owner I can see both sides here but have to go with the customers on this one.

1. The customers did nothing wrong as they were only taking advantage of what was offered.

2. The owner should have known this could happen and should have calculated that into his costs. 2 guys pigging out shouldn't make a restaurant go broke. If it does, the owner has other problems.

3. The owner also should have taken them aside to see if he could work out a solution rather than do it in front of other patrons. Bad business practice here.

Pretty much agree with you. If there's cost issues, then they ought to figure that out in a more productive manner. They just lost two regulars - that's a lot of money, gone like smoke.

What does "all you can eat" mean, if not "all you can eat"?

"All you can eat (once a week)"

"All you can eat (that fits in two bowls)"

Seriously? Those dudes should get free buffet for the rest of their lives!

All you can eat means ALL YOU CAN EAT. If an owner advertises "All You Can Eat", but then refuses to serve because someone is eating too much, they can be sued for false advertising.

This owner has issues and could face legal issues if the two men press for it. I know I would, just to prove a point.

It kind of defeats the purpose of an all-you-can-eat-buffet if your not allowed to eat all you can!

I hope they spread the word so everyone starves themselves and goes and "pigs out".

Maybe he should of called it Repeatable Buffet.
Only 4 repeats allowed.

Definetly not a good move for the business owner.

Going to get nothing out of this except bad publicity.... He must be doing well when he can ban 2 customers and not worry about the reactions of people when they hear the story

i bet they were just pigs and wasting food.

they'd fill a whole bowl with ribs take a nibble and leave it.

come back with noodles, take a mouthful and disregard.

its called all you can eat, not all you can waste.

I would go in pizza hut uk and pay 7pounds eat all you want pizzas
I would take the crusts off and eat the filling, till one day the manager came over and said
I would have to eat the whole pizza or i would not be allowed to eat in there again.

To which i replied, show me where it says that in the terms and conditions sir.
With that the guy called the police and i was arrested..

The owners put out the "All you can eat buffet" what did they expect ? it is false advertisment
Me personally would ring up the relevant authorites and complain..

The sign should have said " All you can eat in for one hour " then gt*o!

They never,i just got arrested for arguing with the man over his terms and conditions he never
had.I was arrested for bad language in public then let go..
