It'll be a cake walk for Ryan.

Ya ya ya... Ryan is going to come on strong with numbers, facts and substance....and Biden in his best southern slave owner accent is going to say "he'll put ya all back in chains" end of story....

Plus Biden is getting a new hair weave.....beat that Ryan!!!

Will that be before or after he invites Mitt Romney out for a cocktail?

Obama talking about Romney outsourcing jobs overseas and getting a tax break..Romney's response"I have been in business 25 years and I have no idea what you are talking about". As if to say...Dude, what in the hell are you talking about??.Romney then explains to Obama how the tax code works.Obama grimaces and looks as if he needs a cigarette in the worst way! From that point on, Obama never looks at Romney again.....Truly a memorable moment!!

It will be a memorable moment in the weeks to come.

It will show that Romney lied his ass off in front of the nation pretending he didn't know what Obama was talking about.

Are the presidential debates rigged? What were they originally meant for? What happened to them that led to the farce it is today? Check out this hard hitting reality check for the facts.

lol ya, AND when Obama spent 2 mins slamming Romney that he will kill education in America...Romney just said Massachusetts was #1 in the county in education while I was Governor...lol

LOL! excellent point!! In my opinion, Romney new his stuff and new it well and when Obama was stating falsehoods, Romney came back not overly aggressive but very assertive and gently rebuked Obama while still managing to clearly state his policies.

Romney's demeanor really threw Obama off his game. Obama baited Romney a couple of times and Romney didn't bite. At that point Obama looked as if he was at a loss.

Was a slam dunk on all fronts for Mitt!

I always come to ATS, but registered tonight to respond here. Something about Obama looked as though he wasn't there. He looked terrified. I have a feeling there is something big going on behind the scenes that completely overshadowed his focus tonight.

What's up with Obama tonight?

He was expecting to go up against another John McCain ...
Romney is no John McCain. Romney destroyed Obama .. easily.
I didn't expect it. Looks like Obama didn't either.

Agreed, Romney won this. But halfway through the debate, did you also notice a bright green light go on for a few seconds as Romney was speaking?

And remember the distracting bang behind the stage when Romney was giving an answer. Don't seem like coincedences to me. Media is overtly pro-Obama, but no matter how hard they try it is plain to see Romney won this.

I briefly had that thought myself. Obama definitely was not as polished and prepared as I remember him from '08. I don't know if it was the anniversary or something like you propose.

If there is something going on behind the scenes, it's got to be international. Economic news is neutral to mildly positive for Obama.

The gloves came off tonight and Romney swung many undecideds to his side.

I'm a decided person. I knew who I was voting for before the debates.

This first one (debate) only confirmed tht I had made the right choice.

What's probably scaring the beejeebus out of the leftists is how many "undecided" people out there are now "decided" based on this debate.

*bazinga*

Agreed Beez. Watching the town hall meeting focus groups after the debate. I was amazed at the number of undecideds who made their choice tonight, based on this debate. They were invigorated by Romney's performance, and soundly disappointed by Obama's lack of factual data.

Bazinga is right. Just now heard on the news. Bill Maher was saying how unhappy he is with Obama's performance. That maybe Obama really does need a teleprompter....from Bill Maher, who donated 1 million dollars to Obama.

I love how giddy all the Right Wingers are.

And yet you are all just talking about the "performance", not about the content of what was said.

Romney has to live with what he said on that stage for the next 5 weeks. He contradicted his own campaign message that he has been delivering for the past few months. He contradicted himself a few times during the debate. And he outlined the only difference between him and Obama is that on the issues tha they differ, Romney's policies will hurt the middle class.

You guys saw Obama as being lost and uninterested, I saw him as sitting back and letting Romney damage himself. This is the first debate, not one voters are going to remember as they are going into the voting booth.

barack is a fairly effective speaker when hes talking to a prompter and not having to volley with another real person. i agree romney seems a bit more agile and polished.

i also agree that we can count on exactly zero of these promises to actually be fulfilled.

You are right. Obama is not capable of extemporaneous speech.

No Obama does not represent the middle class, he represents the pretenders who pretend to represent them. Romney made it very clear what the Obama team is doing to the middle class and he made it clear that the wealthy are doing ok in the Obama econ but the middle class is suffering. How much clearer do you need this to be?

No, he is for free enterprise. Obama is for socialism. That is what it really boils down to.

As I said before on another thread .. when it comes to Obama you see only what you want. I don't like either Obama or Romney .. and even I say that Romney nailed it and Obama was just pathetic.

" 90 billion in green companies that over half have failed could have paid for 2 million teachers" great line....

This will be the one line of the debate that is remembered for a long time.
MSNBC wont repeat it of course ... but the whole world heard it.
It's TRUE and it says a lot about Obama and his policies.

A few times I saw fear in his eyes. He hides it well with words. But it really was hard to follow his line of though sometimes. He really jumped from one idea to the next in an incomprehensible manner at times. It seemed all jumbled together.
