Not making any excuses, but I think the context was past tense. Come on now, Sea. You're delving into territory of which you have no experience in, only an observer. My daughter is half white, but do you know what she is to the average white person? He was speaking in that context, I think. I could be wrong.

Well, I respect your opinion, polo.

I will refrain from commenting further in this thread but I maintain my belief that he is in fact a racist.

Cheers!

As I respect yours, Sea. Cheers!

I have repeatedly told you .. it was inferred.
Just as YOU are inferring that the government response was racist.
Show us a direct quote by Bush43 that says he withheld money and aid
because New Orleans had a high black population. Go ahead.
Obama pandering and insinuating racism was very clear.
As I said .. you see what you want.
edit on 10/3/2012 by FlyersFan because: forgot line

It was not even inferred.
No offense, but I think that's your racist mind working overtime.

He stated very clearly they did not get aid because they could not afford to match payments required by the Stafford Act.

He inferred they did not get assistance

BECAUSE THEY WERE POOR.

HE QUESTIONED THE FAIRNESS OF THIS FROM A GOVERNMENT THAT IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT ALL THE PEOPLE. Ever a statesman. A President needs to recognize and call out injustice where he see's it, if you want to run our country. Doncha think?

This video proves that Obama is happy to play the race card when it suits him, which is, all things considered, a disgraceful thing for an American president to do.

He fake Southern accent is also rather fake.

The puzzling thing is that almost all Afro-Americans vote for him anyway. Why the need to play the race card and put on a fake accent when addressing them?

edit on 3-10-2012 by ollncasino because: (no reason given)
Well I must be an anomaly, because I'm black and I didn't vote for him. I wouldn't vote for any of the thieving bastards in Washington. I really don't see why everyone is bickering over a rigged fight. NONE of them give a sh!+ about any of us, black, white, or in between, they only care for power and green. You can bet your a$$ on that.

Exactly! It's rigged....just one month before the election. This is expanded dirt-digging, nothing more. I'm reminded of my two dogs I had when I was young, and periodically they'd get into vicious fights, so my Dad would throw a pot of cold water on them...now there's an idea! Wouldn't it be psychologically refreshing to have a candidate that actually believed in himself so much that they had no need to character-bash their opponent? I don't believe EITHER candidate is worthy of the presidency or my vote. They ALL have their own private agendas.

When I first heard the tape I thought maybe Obama was drinking and that his speech was a little slurred, but then I realized he was doing that fake drawl that some do when they want to dupe the poor black audience that they are like them. Hillary did this with her " ..thar ain't no whys..." speech. Biden did with, " they gonna put y'all back in chayens.." speech.

Obama has nothing but contempt for white people and so now it's coming out. Sure, the white voters gave him the benefit of the doubt last time, but after seeing what he's done, well, it won't happen again.

If I were giving a speech to a black audience, I wouldn't pretend to be black, and if I was a black man not given to speaking with a poor black man's drawl, I wouldn't insult my audience by faking it, and I think that this more than the actual hate speech against whites is what I found most disturbing. This shows that he thinks most blacks are just dumb people when they are not. I am a white man, and when I see this type of thing I find it offensive and have no respect for such a person.

So what we see in the video, is a con artist at work.

edit on 3-10-2012 by Fromabove because: (no reason given)
I see what you're conveying, but what the hell is a ''poor black man's drawl''? And they're ALL con artists, including Romney's a$$.

A poor black man's drawl is when you have to talk with a heavy accent "like yoos jus out a dat ol white folks chayens dat dey kep y'all in when yas just nuffin but a slave, dats what I means."

I don't know about you, but I find this type of speech to be insulting at the least. Everyone knows that Obama doesn't have a heavy accent like that. It was done to make the blacks in his audience want to come around and fight the struggle with him. Look at his facial expressions and his mannerisms as well. I thought he was drunk, and I partly believe that he did have at least a few before jumping up to the podium.

:shk: blah blah blah Now you are just being obtuse. Obama's pandering and calling the gov't racist is very clear. And you still refuse to give a direct quote that shows the government response was racist.

Exact quotes by Obama .. fake southern black accent and all.
That's not a lie .. it's him talking ... (it's him PANDERING).

Did he say it was because they were black? Didn't even allude to it.

Oh yes he did allude to it. He put on his best fake black southern accent .. in a room full of black people .. and he insinuated it. He most certainly did. Everyone on that room knew exactly what he was saying ... New Orleans didn't get the same response because they were poor black folks ...

There are degrees of wickedness. There are those who represent the wealthy corporate plutocracy who seek to own at a cheap price and subvert the interest of the worker class, even acting to devalue his worth and there are those who do a terrible job trying to represent the workers, the poor, women, minorities and immigrants but it is the platform they run on. You are either with the people or you are with their employers who fight to keep their pay low, their healthcare expensive and their benefits non existent. You are with the people or with those who want to charge them for a decent education and keep them poor so they are happy to work for this lousy low paying job at this corporation that takes advantage of them until they die and then just hire another one. If you have your health and your education YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO FIGHT. Which side is trying to remove both of those while it builds more prisons? You figure it out if you can.

Don't forget the part where the Mormon church explains why American Indians are brown.
The indians were white .. but then they screwed up and God made them brown.
Southpark does a great episode about the Mormon religion

Obamas speech to members of a black congregation delt with injustice due to poverty. He did not say anywhere it was because they were black - did not even allude to it. He alluded it was about money. Here is more in response to seabags request for a video about "churches."

This cartoon, a segment from the controversial 1982 film "The Godmakers," has been removed from YouTube many times by angry Mormons who don't want you to see how utterly ludicrous their beliefs are

Any person can be racist. And some who are known to be racists can reconsider their ways and their sin and change. Others like J. Wright and Obama cannot, or so it seems. Black people are not evil. Evil people are those that reject God. The democrat party came very close to that during the convention. Anyway, the Mormon church doesn't hold that blacks are evil anymore. Have you heard if J. Wright has changed his views on whites ?

I'll vote for the Mormon over the muslim so fast you won't even see my hand pull the lever when I do. Mormons don't want to enslave you, kill you, bomb your house, kill and rape your women, inflict inhuman laws on you, and cut off your head.

But we're not voting for a religious leader, but an economist this time around, that's why we're gonna fire the one we have now.

Show me the quote that proves racism.

It isn't there.

Class-ism is, but racism is not.

Everyone on that room knew exactly what he was saying

You are a mind reader now?

This is where your "racism" comes in...When you, a white person, thinks you know what a roomful of black people are thinking, and what Obama REALLY MEANS, going not so much by what he IS saying, but what he is NOT saying.

Hello?

Get a grip.

Real Spoke, you didn't answer my polite question so I will ask it again.

If I may ask you this, I am interested to hear the opinion of a black man, how do you feel about Obama thinking he has to change his speech pattern when he is speaking to a black audience? Is it offensive to you, an intelligent black, man that he feels he can't speak to your people in an educated tone of voice?

You’re comparing something that happened 34 years ago in the Mormon churchto something that is still going on today in Wright’s church.

Do you not see how ridiculous this argument is?

Right back atchya. It's obvious .. from his fake southern black accent .. to the pandering to the crowd he was with .. to his history of embracing black liberation theology racism as a motivator .. but if you choose not to see it, that's on you. It's there.

So would I. Not that I believe your idiotic stereotypical Israeli based synopsis of Muslim religion. I know a great many decent and respectable Muslims that are more civilized and gracious and treat women better than many of other faiths and Nationalities. It all depends on the family and their education level when it comes down to it and ignorance is rampant with regard to women through out the world. Check out the PBS special..Half the Sky.

And unfortunately you do not know what you are talking about which explains why our country is in such turmoil. Rampant and epidemic ignorance.

Funny how that works.

I'm being obtuse by asking you to provide facts?

I'm sorry that you can't provide any direct evidence for what you believe, but that doesn't make me obtuse.

You claiming that it is "there" and that you "know" what he really means is not proof. It is exactly what you are accusing me of, that is you are seeing what you want to see. And you are seeing that because you have been pre-fed your opinion by others.

Yes I do. The difference between a Mormon believer and a muslim is this. The Momon will let you be, and the muslim will kill you and will insist that the government be ruled by the laws of Islam. In Islam, religion and government are the same thing. Obama helps muslims, and this is shown by his failed foreign policy decisions which inflame and promote violence worldwide.

More lies and ignorance spread as easily as peanut butter on bread. Please take your racism elsewhere. Better yet keep it within the family. People who make flat blanketed assumptions like this should be quarantined and their ideas burned, so as not to infect others outside, with the disease of racism and bigotry.

Um, the whole point is that both Romney and Obama went to racially questionable churches. That's the thing you don't want to admit......you're just trying to put everything on Obama, the scary black man that is out to get whites.

But then I'm talking to someone that doesn't think denying black people priesthood and considering them cursed isn't white supremacy.
