Thanks. True. One thing I'd like to clear up is this: MANY New Orleanians-white, black, Asian, hispanic- worked really hard to rebuild. The media,
and certain politicians (see Obama in this thread title), chose to focus on the alleged victims.
That city is doing a lot better because of people and communities rolling up their sleeves and doing it themselves. The FEMA funded public works
projects helped, of course, but those didn't kick in until 3-4 years after the storm (due to bureaucracy).
One should assume the government will be dysfunctional. Anyone who lives in South Louisiana and doesn't have a minimal supply of food and supplies in
their home simply shouldn't live there. Period. I say this as a South Louisianan.
