There are plenty of government "goons" on the site, there are police, fire and all sorts of people. There are also many military and ex-military
people on the site. If I saw a credible and immediate threat to kill someone on this site, I would report it, same thing if I saw someone posting
child pornography. It doesn't mean that it is my job to be on the site; but, there are so many people in state, local and federal government that are
on social media for the same reason as everyone else. Some of us goons also provide useful information that you would not otherwise have. Personally,
I am in the transportation end of things and I have posted on how the Federal government is attempting to take over local municipal right of ways.
As for monitoring by the police and federal agencies. Of course they monitor social media, they would be quite stupid if they did not. If people are
dumb enough to post pictures of themselves stealing and beating up people, the police are going to look for them and wouldn't you expect them to?
As for being lab rats, sure we are to a degree; but, we always have been, you just didn't know it. All the little militias were infiltrated decades
ago as was the Black Panthers, the Communist Party and every other group that has advocated violence. If they are tapping cell phone conversations
without a warrant, why wouldn't they monitor social media? The NSA and others have openly stated that they are designing software to predict civil
disturbances, that is the job of these organizations and no, you don't have to like it and I don't have to like it either; but, it is real.
Just about everyone in my family has secret or top secret clearances, primarily military. I even dated a woman with a Top Secret clearance, I found it
quaint and amusing that she thought I would be impressed. One of my relatives was the military liaison for a the United States to a foreign country.
Even though I have not applied for a secret clearance, because of my family my phones has been tapped going back to the 70s, the FBI has checked me
out numerous times and I am not allowed to see my FBI file.
You might think that it was difficult growing up knowing that the government was watching you, it was merely annoying because I knew it and I knew it
had nothing to do with me, collateral inconvenience at best. The fact is that the government monitors for very specific things. Many people have
posted pictures of themselves smoking weed or doing stupid things and nobody came and arrested them. They are looking for serious crime and could care
less if you hate jews; but, if you give credible information that you actually intend to kill someone then they will take action.
ATS, intentionally or unintentionally, is a window for the government to look for conspiracy theorists and extremists so they are going to look into
it. In general ATS is managed so well that truly hateful or threatening things are removed by the monitors fairly quickly. Everything on the internet
is monitored and always has been, it began as a military project and has remained funded by the government. Look up ICANN and you will see how true
The truth is that the government really doesn't worry about 99.9% of us and they shouldn't. The fact that someone smoked weed last night just isn't
going to gain the attention of the FBI. I guess I am saying is that they monitor; but, it really doesn't matter.
