while some of the rich complain about the poor taking unemployment benifits,
they them selves have been doing the same.

WHY does a millionaire get to claim unemployment then complain about the poor doing it?
is it greed or contempt?

Almost 2,400 people who received unemployment insurance in 2009 lived in households with annual incomes of $1 million or more, according to the Congressional Research Service.
The report was released after about 1.1 million people exhausted their jobless benefits during the second quarter of 2012, when more than 4.6 million filed initial unemployment claims. Eliminating those payments to high earners is one idea being considered as U.S. lawmakers struggle to curb a projected $1.1 trillion deficit for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, with the nationwide jobless rate at 8.1 percent.

while some starve and slave to get through the week,
others can afford to spend their wealfare on $180 a meal dinners, and top shelf wiskey
HOW?

Top 1% Got 93% of Income Growth as Rich-Poor Gap Widened

The recovery that officially began in mid-2009 hasn’t arrived in most Americans’ paychecks. In 2010, the top 1 percent of U.S. families captured as much as 93 percent of the nation’s income growth, according to a March paper by Emmanuel Saez, a University of California at Berkeley economist who studied Internal Revenue Service data.

so increasing share of the nations income is no longer enough for these greedy bastards,
they also want to complain how "the poor" feel "privlidged" to take their money,

WHILE COLLECTING BENEFITS THEMSELVES

earnings for this group increased 5.5% up from 2010
while those entitled "poor" had earning decrease by 1.2%
for the same period.

millionaires collecting benefits and calling the poor parasites?
2,400 people who are the people pushing for the tax breaks for million airs no less

WOW

It also says...

Eliminating the federal share of unemployment benefits for millionaires would save $20 million in the next decade...

Or to put it another way, it would save 2 Million from the 1.1 Trillion debt.

i think you might have missed the point.........
why do millionaires collect benefits?

HOW can a person who is financially healthy collect benefits?

WHO is so greedy as to collect benefits while being a millionaire?

ARE YOU DEFENDING THE MILLIONAIRES WHO TAKE BENEFITS?

really?

I don't know that the rich complain about the "poor" taking unemployment benefits. By definition, these people had a job and lost it, so they're entitled to it. I DO think people complain about others taking unemployment and not looking for a job, even though that is supposed to be a requirement for taking unemployment in the first place. But with benefits stretching upwards of two years these days, for some people that is a disincentive to look for work.

There is no "means test" for unemployment. It's not considered a welfare program where you have to spend down assets before you qualify. It would be very easy for someone who had a net worth of more than a million to qualify for unemployment. All you need is a fancy house and a savings account and you're there.

For example, I know a guy who was making about $180,000 a year in commercial construction and was recently fired "for cause," though they wouldn't tell him what the "cause" was in this "at will" state. He has two houses, none of which are paid for, but on paper he's a "millionaire." Does he have a million dollars cash? Of course not. But he has three kids, a mortgage, and needs to put food on the table. Will he take unemployment? You bet, and because he once made a lot of money, he'll pay income taxes on it.

I caution people to not jump to unwarranted conclusions when you read "shock" numbers like this. There's usually a lot more to it than the statistics indicate. It's the same mistake as claiming all welfare recipients cheat. Well, they don't, but the Welfare Cadillac gets the news. It's the same way here.

Disclosure: I once worked for the State Employment Security Department, Unemployment Compensation Division.

thank you for answering the HOW part of the question,
so their is no means testing for the rich?

that seams odd?
any billionaires signed up then?

if their is no means testing and billionairs pay tax what stops them from also asking for benefits?

and yes these numbers do look shocking

Although the 1 percent did gain 93% The revenue in the top brackets have fallen since 2007, this does not excuse taking government money just because they lost their wall street job or their multimillion dollar company is posting quarters in the red. Source taxfoundation.org...

Seems Mitt Romney was speaking the truth when he was on about the 47 percent who rely on benefits,I just never thought it included millionaires.

No, they are not entitled to it. They should be declaring their wealth and then it should be decided whether they qualify or not None of those millionaires in my book should qualify for a benefit like that. They have money, can get by unlike some one who hasn't got a fat bank account behind them.
