Sometimes I want to refer back to the thread, but I don't always want to default by opening the 'new reply' page in an open tab.
What I mean is when I am replying, i sometimes want to refer back to the thread if I need a specific detail. However, as far as I can tell the new reply page does not display a clickable link for the thread you're replying to (that I would open in a new tab).

Is there a nav bar I haven't noticed yet? If not, please consider my suggestion

thanks,
-Ghostx

uuuuh......what?

When you are replying to a thread you still want to be able to read the thread you are replying to, is that what you mean?

I'm a bit slow because I just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet But if you right-click the reply button in a thread and select "open in a new tab" you can reply to a thread while still being able to read the thread by switching tabs.....

This can't be what you are talking about......can it?

Peace

Nah. I'm talking about just making a clickable link that is for either:
-The section you're making a new thread in.
or
-The thread you are writing a reply to.

So if you forget to do what you just described, you don't have to like either:
> Go to ATS main page. Find forum.
or
> Copy your writing > Press back button > Read thread > Open new reply/thread in new tab > paste writing

You can instead just open the link that would be above new thread/reply in a new tab.

Okay.......I have been doing it like that for years!

What you could also do is always hit the "quote" button, start writing your reply below the quote and when you are done remove the
to
part except for the reply to post by operation mindcrime
[more] part in the quote....

Am I making sense?

Peace

PS: never mind, you'll end up replying to the wrong post. Guess there is no other way.
