Since Univision's Jorge Ramos grilled Barack Obama Sept. 20, the network and ABC have been teasing at new information obtained despite Eric Holder's stonewalling and Obama's desparate claim of "executive privilege" to prevent disclosure of the depth of the scandal and the heights within the administration to which it reached.

Tonight, Univision's "Aqui y Ahora" ("Here and Now") program revealed new information likely to bring "Fast and Furious" back to the front burner of political discussion.

Univision News identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings, and at least one other massacre.

The Univision News investigation also found ATF offices from states besides Arizona pursued similar misguided strategies. In Florida, the weapons from Operation Castaway ended up in the hands of criminals inColombia, Honduras and Venezuela (link audio crumpler), the lead informant in the case told Univision News in a prison interview.

Among other things uncovered by Univision's investigative team, "Investiga," at least 96 weapons tied to F&F were recovered at the scenes of murders, kidnappings and massacres. A person familiar with the recent congressional hearings called Univision's findings "the holy grail" that Congress had been searching for.

The Untold Story Behind The "Fast and Furious" Scandal

Preview of Univision’s “bombshell” report on Fast & Furious

The Univision program aired at 7:00 EDT tonight, and there should be a transcript available shortly.
Do not expect the MSM (other than the limited coverage given by CBS and, now, ABC) to give any of this new information much notice.

We all know that the whole Fast and Furious scandal was about arming particular cartels, for the protection of particular trafficking lanes and information. Sad no matter which way you try to spin it... From this possibly being a rather large conspiracy, going 'all the way to the top' in some cases.... to it just being known about by those directly involved, it's pretty messed up to think that weapons were deliberately given to criminals in which we fight due to the 'war on drugs' AND they commit terrorist acts as a business models and means....
