Neurosurgeon Dr. Leif Salford, who has researched the effect of wifi and cell phones radiation on the brain since 1988, describes his findings as "terrifying."

His study of the effects of low-level radiation on 1,600 experimental animals which shows the blood brain barrier to leak, have been confirmed by 13 other laboratories in 6 different countries.

Since he began his line of research in 1988, Dr. Leif Salford and his colleagues at Lund University Hospital in Sweden has exposed over 1,600 experimental animals to low-level radiation.

Their results were consistent and worrisome: radiation, including that from cell phones, caused the blood-brain barrier--the brain's first line of defense against infections and toxic chemicals--to leak.

Researchers in 13 other laboratories in 6 different countries had reported the same effect, but no one had proven whether it would lead to any damage in the long term.

When Dr. Leif Salford further experimented to find if the effect was long term, he discovered that after 8 weeks, up to 2% of neurons in all areas of the brain had shrunk and degenerated. He points out that it is believed that a similar process occurs with humans.

In a study published June 2003 in Environmental Health Perspectives, Salford's team repeated the experiment on 32 additional animals, but this time waited eight weeks before sacrificing them and examining their brains.

In those animals that had been exposed to a cell phone, up to two percent of the neurons in all areas of the brain were shrunken and degenerated.

"We have good reason to believe," he said, "that what happens in rats' brains also happens in humans." Referring to today's teenagers, the study's authors wrote that "a whole generation of users may suffer negative effects, perhaps as early as in middle age."

Dr. Devra Davis states that cells exposed to cell phone radiation appear to be more damaged than cells exposed to gamma radiation from a nuclear blast and points out that studies showing such damage have been around since 1972.

Dr. Devra Davis... ...shows photos of two cells, one whose DNA has been damaged by "gamma" radiation (which is what was emitted in Hiroshima) and another cell damaged by low level pulsing non ionizing radiation (from a cell phone).

Both cells look very damaged compared to a normal cell; but she even goes on to say the DNA from the cell exposed to the cell phone radiation looks worse.

She also discusses the campaign to discredit reputable scientists and their studies--some of these reputable studies having been around since 1972 (Frey).

In response to hundreds of peer reviewed studies confirming the danger, in 2011 the WHO recognized that cell phone and Wi-Fi radiation may be carcinogen.

In May of 2011, the World Health Organization official recognized that wireless radiation such as emitted by "smart meters" is a possible carcinogen.

After decades of corporately-funded, biased research being held up as "industry-standard", there are hundreds of independent peer-reviewed scientific studies now showing there is a clear health hazard with technology emitting wireless radiation in the range that "smart meters" do.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Keith Black points out that the danger is likely to be higher in children who have thinner skulls.

PBS Interview with Dr. Keith Black (neurosurgeon) regarding WHO's classification of RF Electromagnetic radiation as a 2b possible carcinogen. "We haven't had any good studies in the pediatric population.

A child's skull is much thinner. . . .and the amount of radiation that goes into the pediatric brain is much higher than in an adult. So we should be cautious with how we allow our children to use a cell phone.

Sitting here with a laptop on my lap, as I often do, this is very worrying.

This is worrisome. I always questioned the effects on cell phone radiation on the brain. There have been numerous earlier testing that claim cell phone radiation damage to the brain was inconclusive. A few others reports stated they may cause tumors in the brain. Now this study is stating it causes the blood barrier in the brain to leak?

I would think texting would be safer, considering the phone isn't held close to the brain. I'm an old dog, so I don't use my simple pay as you go phone much. If I even used half of my 300 minutes in a month, it would be a lot for me. I do however worry about my wife and children who use their phone as another limb.

Unfortunately, people probably won't become alarmed until hospitals start seeing an influx of people with brain tumors or brain damage. I hope their wrong. Only time will tell.

Thanks for posting info on this pertinent health topic. I try to limit my radiation exposure but I didn't realize how dangerous cell phones probably are. I will be thinking twice about keeping mine close to my body for any extended period of time. At my house, we unplug the wireless router at night, but having it on in the day seems less desirable all the time... almost as undesirable as a bunch of cat5 cable snaking through the house.

I've been sounding like a lunatic talking about this for many years. Some people finally flipped the idiot switch from crazy to brilliant...they're doing the same and listening closer to what I have to say.

There was a video floating around yt several years back with a guy from the university of brazil, or chili...something in south america. The professor and research said that the telecom companies must be aware of what's going on, it's just not cost effective for them to install a parabolic dish/shield on cell phones...instead, they seem to be paying for bogus studies to make it seem the juries still out.

He said it has little to do with the power of the phone..that is minuscule, it's about the radiation from the cell towers. Once it connects to a network, it's the combined power. He also stated that our brain works as a transceiver of radiation, and once in close proximity will suck this energy in. From a cell phone it's omnidirectional, but once stuck to the skull it gets mostly sucked in.

I have also seen graphs which show the testosterone dropping in men who wear them in the pocket. My solution is easy: use speakerphone, and never carry it on myself. No BBB leakage here!

Found it!

Ya, and imagine how parents are allowing their children to use cell phones at ages of 8..
This is another one of those things that will not be realized till it is too late..
Cell phones
WIFI
Chem trailing
GMO foods
Fluoridated waters
fluoridated toothpastes and mouthwashes
Mercury fillings
ect,ect,ect

gosh,. kinda seems like an extermination project

PS Don't eat the toothpaste...fluoride is terrible yes...but it does prevent cavities when used correctly. I stopped using tpaste and got a cavity pretty quick...

I am not saying drink it...especially if you cook with it and boil off some of the water...its goes form safe to unsafe levels very quickly..

But spit the crap out and rinse...if you know of a replacement for enamel strengthening please PM me the info

Sorry OP...back to the regularly schedule program(er thread)

Meh, this is why i didn't want a damn cell phone in the first place, but my wife insisted because her OCD she needs to be able to get ahold of me at all times of the day
. I was perfectly fine without a cellphone since i was part of the generation that grew up without that stuff. I wonder what the effects of television and plasma tv's has on the brain? Odds are if you've owned a cell phone for any amount of time the damage is irreparable and no point worrying about it now.

Now we know why Presidents don't use cell phones. TPTB have their minions do the cell(ing) for them.

Ok... this is the one time where I would really like Phage to come in and debunk this for us.

I can feel my brain leaking...

hmmmm, although this info isn't really new, it's great to see some major players emphasizing the risk.

i'm thinking research aimed at proving the correlation between the cellular degenerative effects in relation to the rise in autism since cell phones hit the market would be a wise investment.
i would not be surprised to learn there is a direct relationship between the two.

I have a better idea, let's keep Phage off this thread.

Phage is a really smart dude with an immense amount of knowledge.

He is not a neuroscientist. Why would you look to a non-neuroscientist to debunk neuroscience

OP,

As for the study. Not much is mentioned.

How much radiation did they subject the animals to?? Is it a realistic amount?

How certain are we all other factors are not to be held accountable for the neurondegeneration? Any link to more detailed info about the study?

How exactly would we keep Phage off this thread? He can post where ever he wants. Honestly I was mainly joking, but I wouldn't complain if this turned out to be a hoax.

He doesn't need to be a neuroscience to debunk this. Phage is very knowledgeable when it comes to questionable scientific research. If there is any scientific opposition to this research, any research papers which prove these claims are highly questionable, Phage will probably know where those documents can be located.

his groomers or handlers allocate specific propaganda from outsourced databases or consultants and funnell it through his handle.. the 'phage' could very well be many 'sources' of info.
a plurality to 'weed whack' any uprising of knowledgeable insight that may emerge...

be advised.

that said...

whats up with this...???
the company Clear Internet supplies people with high-powered 4G modems in their household to transmit and receive 24-7 streams of internet data. Would these devices not be like a cell phone on steroids emitting it's max capacity of EM radiation 24-7 into the surrounding area, which is most likely very near to your own body, since it's next to your computer (where you sit when you're home) .. or in the same room you sleep .. if you rent an apartment room ...

comments on this?

Perhaps we meant 'debunk' differently. If a legitimate scientific study was conducted it would require legitimate knowledge in that field to debunk it. It seems you might have meant differently. I am not saying Phage isn't qualified to question. Hell I just did myself and he's more qualified than me I am sure. But debunking is not the same as casting doubt.

And suddenly those wearing the tinfoil hats don't seem so strange anymore, huh? lol. I believe this is probably accurate, that wifi-radiation causes brain damage and alteration. Knowing what radiation is in general, it is only logical that placing a device emitting EM waves next to your head is a bad idea. Yet most of us never really think twice about using our cell phones.

Maybe this is playing a part in why it seems there are just so many dumb people around today. I mean people who just make you want to facepalm yourself and anyone standing next to you, which would be a double facepalm I suppose. I mean I really never though of myself as better or smarter than the majority of other people, but when you start interacting or seeing others interact quite often, you start to see things that you never thought you would see...or hear. It's just like, how can people be that dumb? I know we sometimes make the mistake of thinking that everyone is on our level, or at least I do, and I can accept that this isn't the case...but only to a certain extent. But someone who doesn't know that a bear can bite you, for instance, probably deserves to be eaten by that bear. Unless they are just a little one, and don't know any better yet. But that isn't what I am talking about.

I'm sure you guys know what I'm saying, and have seen these people in these moments in the past. It just seems to me to be happening with increasing frequency, but maybe I have just been unlucky. Or have just noticed it more than others. We all have similar moments though, at one time or another, but there are people who seem to have these moments all the time. I refuse to believe it can all be caused by upbringing alone, and therefore another cause should become apparent. I just wonder if radiation bombarding the brain may be partly to blame.

Good thread - these are studies that will one day likely be seen as important as those that finally convinced the public that asbestos and smoking weren't as harmless as the corps would have had us all believe.

Alas, there is still probably a long long way to go until these studies reach critical mass - 50 years or so, when autopsies start showing the mature effects of wifi.

For example, my own partner doesn't seem convinced of my decision to turn off our wifi until our baby is a couple years old. I think there's a very long way to go for that mindset to be changed.

BTW, does anyone have any info on the age at which a child's skull is thick enough to block the radiation to the level an adult brain does?

In terms of my own router, i've turned off the wifi, using cable instead.

However, as you say, i'm still receiving the radiation transmitted by my neighbours - not much i can do about that without getting arrested
