Seems to me this site is only concerned with terrorism - is that because terrorisim is the thing most in the mainstream news? Also I notice that when something comes out on CNN, about 5 minutes later it appears on ATS.com - does that mean the news here is second hand from the big news agencies? Do you ever get anything first?

Anyway I love the other forum categories, I just get bored with all the war on terror BS...

only my 2 cents...

If you get bored with the terror talk on ATS then I would suggest that you click on the most recent post tab at the top. This will give you the most recent topics (many not about terror) that you can read and contribute too.

There is alot more on ATS then terror.

Here at ATS we deal with current news, seems like right new we are dealing with a lot of terrorism news.

If you don't want to read about this kind of news, don't click on that kind of thread...

That's the thing, I can't not click on that thread. Just the other day I saw a perfectly reasonable thread about aliens or somesuch degenerate into a Bush-bashing contest. It's just getting silly.

Politics will inevitably trickle its way into most things these days...due to the elections...so too the topic of terrorism. It may infuriate some, though as said - its topical...as such, well, is going to be a little inescapable for a while.

Like most things however, they have 'expiry dates'...after the elections etc I'm sure we'll return to your usual regularly scheduled programming...whoops...did I say 'programming'???

Personally, if I find the main boards a lil too saturated with politics and terrorism...a brief venture over to BelowTopSecret for some mindless spam is oft' just what the good doctor ordered.

Peace,
ALIEN

Abovetopsecret.com was around before the war on terror, too bad you didn't find us then!
When you're dealing with conspiracy theories, it is only natural for each theory to incorporate into it current events. It goes with the terrain, and it is up to you to make the decision whether you wish to adopt a skeptical stance and dispute those threads.

Also, instead of suggesting a domain name change, why don't you post your own topic about what you'd like to discuss? You might be surprised at the level of discussion you can encourage, particularly if you demonstrate rational thought and intelligence in your post.

Looking forward to your posts!

Mmmm. I don't recall the interview with Badnarik being anywhere else first.

The 17 US reservists being arrested story was up a good couple of hours before CNN and other outlets were reporting it.

We take stories that we think the ATS users are interested in from lots of sources. It can be a report from an on the spot witness to an event, a live TV broadcast,a newsflash on one TV station in the entire world,a news report, a story in a newspaper(local or national) ,or from a small website or from an established media source like CNN.

No one person could monitor the thousands of different outlets our members and users see everyday. They post it here so you don't have to look for it.

As for content. ATSNN is a community news network which means that people post what they are interested in or concerned about.People post what is relevant to them.

So ATSNN is a mix of news portal (news and links to established outlets) and original material. The content of which is determined by those that submit the stories.

CNN is an important resource but no more important than any other. All portal type news contain a link and you can see for yourself how many link to a CNN story.

No one nation news outlet will tell you the entire story.

The above is ATSNN.

For ATS , well, I don't see CNN doing stories on Aliens,Crypto-zoology,or secret societies.People post the content they want to.

Because this site is dedicated to the conspiracies which occur, the terror are just extra. There is several other things in this site that would make it seem like terror isn't the only issue, creating that kind of website would lead to puzzlement. After all, what does the Majestic Documents have to do with the war on terror?
