Even the NY TIMES got it right.

A G.O.P. Reunion, With Plans for More Togetherness

After Mr. Ryan whooped up the crowd in Vandalia on Tuesday, Mr. Romney moved to the front of the stage. As the crowd began chanting “Romney! Romney!” he cut them off.“Wait a second,” Mr. Romney said, instructing the audience to cheer for “Romney-Ryan! Romney-Ryan!” They did.

“There we go,” he said, pleased.

But I'm sure even that wont dissuade your from your specious point.

I was showing this thread to my wife and noticed something else VERY significant.

In the MSNBC piece, Mika even references the very NY Times article I quoted above... and guess what? THEY STILL CHOSE to ignore even what the NY Times said happened.

Explain that.

Given your hearing skill, then, you must be a junior staffer at MSNBC.

Funny how this thread got quiet.

The NY Times article was included in the "Morning Joe" Scarborough segment - they were even commenting on it - and what prompted the video feature in the first place. The claim the video was doctored appears utterly false.

twitter.com...

The fake controversy over the Ryan chants is a joke. Romney said "What a guy!" The crowd chanted "Ryan!" and then Mitt jokes "Romney/Ryan!"
-- @JoeNBC

Expect to hear the tape again on Monday.
-- @JoeNBC

You can claim it's subjective whether you hear "Romney" or "Ryan", but the only false claim being made is the one that MSNBC "doctored" the clip.

For a Romney supporter it would have to be embarrassing to see him instructing a crowd on what to cheer.

I heard Romney chanted 3 times in a row. I have great speakers so I'll stick with the caller having listened to it 4 times now.

Nice try yourself.

I cannot watch the video right now. Can you sum up for me what is supposed to be happening here?

I see threads pointing out when FOX lies and all the defenses are "Well other stations do it too!" The defense is never "No, that is not what happened."

It looks like the responses you are getting are "No, that is not what happened."
So what supposedly happened here?

If they are going to such great lengths to colour the opposing side in such an unfavourable light it must mean that we are winning.

Remember you said that.

So take heart! Recent polls (see Eurisko's thread) show Romney with a +8% lead.

A blogger falsely claims skewed numbers, makes up his own numbers to try and make Obama look bad. What is that?

"If they are going to such great lengths....."
This is the same Eurisko that believes Sarah Palin is still going to be nominated at the convention and win the election right? After the convention he never conceded to being wrong about that so you got a liar from ATS quoting a blogger from Mitt Romney's side of the fence and you want to talk about going to great lengths.

Romney win win this, no matter the dirty tricks the MSM try to portray.

Also, do they think we're that stupid to be swayed by such cheap theatrics?

You seem pretty swayed by Eurisko's blogger who just made # up. I guess that is not stupid?

You and a few others around here but mostly you, use the exact same arguments against Obama that you use for Romney. It is too funny.

How embarrassing - for the GOP.

Consider the following scenarios:

No. 1- the crowd was chanting "Romney" - and Romney chastises the crowd by cajoling them into including Ryan's name as well - the embarrassment is Ryan's.

No. 2- the crowd was chanting "Ryan" - and Romney is petulant and insecure enough to demand his own name be added to the mix - the embarrassment is Romney's

No. 3- (it doesn't matter what the crowd was chanting) Romney jumps up and starts "It's Rom-ney-Ryan, Rom-ney-Ryan, Rom-ney-Ryan, there you go!" - only no one 'went' - no one started chanting along. In fact the chanting just sort of fizzles out as soon as Romney starts cajoling them. That, to me, is in fact the most hilarious, and embarrassing thing about this little episode... It's like the crowd saw Romney up there on stage trying to high-five someone, and everyone just left him hanging there.

My take?

Listening to the audio, it sure sounds like a monosyllabic word being shouted. It's NOT a double-syllabic word like "Rom-ney". TBH "Ryan" could be prolonged into "Ry-yan", but I don't hear that. It just sounds like "Ryan" in the video.

It COULD be that some small part of the crowd was much louder or closer to the mic, and their shouts of "Ryan" drowned out the shouts of "Romney". Possible. But no matter WHAT the crowd was shouting, it was just EMBARRASSING all around that Romney would have to cajole his crowd into what to shout. He either embarrasses himself, or he embarrasses Ryan. THEN, on top of that, the crowd doesn't even go along with his cheerleading and just leave him hanging.

I have not looked into this very much, but by watching the video I have to say that it sounds like they are saying Romney, with a few people thrown in that are off-beat.

If that is the case, I hope MSNBC corrects their mistake. If they don't, that's a big ding on their reputation in my book.

The moment they chose for the audience by PRINTING Ryan's name on the clip (and asserting as much in contradiction the the NY Times article) is EXACTLY what doctoring means.

It's absurd to assert otherwise.

Desperate desperate desperate.
FOX: Obama is a Secular Muslim bent on destroying religion and being socialism to America in the name of Islam.
OK
MSNBC: What were they chanting? Pretty sure it was Ryan
MSNBC IS A BUNCH OF LIARS!!!!!!

Yeah you people all seem sane.

"That's quite a guy, isn't it?"

He thinks a lot of his running mate.

I'd have to agree, the words on the screen can make your brain think that's what you're hearing and even shutting my eyes and listening, I still hear Ryan but that's because I saw the words on the screen and had the word in my head already.

I wouldn't say they edited the clip, I'd say they enhanced it so you would hear what they wanted you to. MSNBC lies, Fox lies....and? I'm surprised people are surprised.

This is teh best reply in the whole thread. It's embarrassing for Romney no matter what. He acted like an ass up there. I notice he put way more emphasis on his name than Ryan, like: "It's ROMNEY Ryan ROMNEY Ryan, There you go!"

This would have made me pissed 4 months ago, as I wanted to vote for AnybodyButObama, but no way will i vote for this 'tard. Now I just sit back and laugh my butt off at what an idiot Romney has turned into. I hope the GOP screwed up so bad this time the party splits in half and the real Republicans come back.

I listened to it over and over, with head phones, very loud, with my eyes closed.

They are chanting "Ryan".

Nice try though.

And you should also let everyone know that this comes from The Blaze. Not that they have an agenda or anything.

Funny, I listened to it several times the same way, and I heard "Romney, Romney" AND "Ryan, Ryan".

I guess you have to be nonpartisan to hear the truth.

I also listened to the full audio on Glenn Becks's radio show. Romney introduces Ryan while they chant Romney, Mitt then cuts in mentioning Ryan, followed by the crowd chanting both names, finally Mitt steps in and says its Romney Ryan. He is embrasing his running mate NOT trying to steal the show.
