It is funny that you have Japan & China falling out over a few rocks in the sea near there borders at this time, but rather odd don't you think that just weeks ago America said China is awakening and the USA need to put more power into the South China sea? then all of a sudden you have this Island event pop up. Then America say they do not wish to see Japan & China fight over these islands, the USA say we wont take sides in the dispute,,, love it,,, then the USA say o but we have an agreement with Japan to cover those islands from Japan having them taken off them,,, well if that is not taking sides I am not sure what it is are you folks? my dad use to say: You cant have your cake and eat it...

Actually the US signed a treaty that requires they DEFEND JAPAN in any dispute over the islands.

apparently there is not any oil or other valuable minerals on the islands. if there were, the u.s. would have "liberated" the island from terrorists.

It's a god forsaken rock. Nothing of interest, but it could prove to be a very decent testing ground for new army gadgets.

Those guns must be going sour by now.

Oh goodie...can't wait.

Of course.I like principles. It's always worth it in the end.

Those 'rocks' had been a problem in the eastern seas since a scientific study had been conducted and found to contain mineral resources in the late 60s and every greedy son of a bit&h leader in Asia had laid claims to it one way or another.

Only america had been gentlemanly about it, to back away from it since 1972, to let those nations decide for themselves on how to share that wealth. USA don't need that wealth, for it has more wealth than any other nation ever had - its innovative and brave People.

Where had you been all this time, OP, and what had you been ignorant of for the past 30 years???

my dad use to say: You cant have your cake and eat it...

Your dad never had the might of the U.S military at his birthday party.
Quite frankly America can do whatever it wants until there's another force that can rival it.
So far China and Russia have been less than impressive.

Take it no ones considered the US leaning on Japan to stir it up In order to lend weight to pacific expansion ?
And the missile shield ....that's no doubt been in the works for longer than we are aware

By now it is pretty obvious to all what's going on around our world today...

Strange weather and and natural phenomena.

Economic doomsday for EU states

Religious and sectarian unrest in the Middle East

Consequences of corruption showing up with results in Africa

Greedy govt dogs in Asia straining at the leashes to tear at each other over presumed sea riches.

Independence hungry states in Russia, seeking to be free.

Endless corruption and fighting back by an awoken Indian generation in India.

The rich hoarding up their obscenely huge amounts of funds unprecedented in history while billions starved.

The world has gone nuts....at the same time....

Yet, USA stands out, weathering most storms and conflicts intact, though forces are trying to tear it apart. And it is USA, the most powerful nation of Earth, not just because of military might BUT its people, who will and can help our world now.

Americans survived because of adaptability foremost, on top of everything else besides its tried and tested sacred Constitution which is a gel that unites all. The way to help the world is by using its moral, economic and if necessary - military might through the rule of law tempered with compassion and pragmatism for others.

There are forces at work, either man-made or natural that had caused this unfamiliarity of events in our current world. It will need the help of those sane ones now, to adapt and ride above the waves.

For atheists, life is complex and never liner. There are no statistics that can show what is happening today and predict even what tomorrow will bring.

For religious faithfuls, may they be aware that no matter how the ancient prophecies of end days are seemingly fulfilled today, do know that everything is under control of our common Creator. Only He decides our fates, no other being. The prophecies can be continued, or averted as in the case by the biblical patriach Lot prior to the destruction of Sodam and Gomarrah. It lays in how worthy we are, not by form, but by our hearts towards ourselves and others.
