Cherokee Nation Chief is obviously not of Native American ancestry, just look at him.

I guess one of the sticking points here is a lack of those particular records from that time. I am not really sure. To me it hardly matters if she checked that box. It has been quite clear that she gained absolutely nothing to note in life by claiming to be Cherokee so why is Scott Brown so worried about it?

It just killed me though when I saw him saying "look at her" for the billionth time it was aired and then a statement from the Cherokee Chief along with his very non stereotypical looking face.

What does the Cherokee Chief have to say about that?

Gosh I have no idea. This guy is too white to ask. Isn't he?

I think you ought to look into the subject of genetics.

Just because he looks White doesn't mean anything. My Mother is 1/4 Cherokee and looks a combination of White and Aboriginal. I on the other hand look completely White.. Being only 1/8 Cherokee it is diluted in me.

I think you completely missed my point.
Scott Brown is the one saying that he can tell who is and who is not Cherokee by looking at them.
I am pointing out that he is way the hell off.

I think you ought to read my opening post over and over again until you understand I am pointing out how wrong Brown is by saying he can tell someone is or is not a certain race by looking at them.

Unless you had a complete thought to add?

According to Scott Brown, Elizabeth Warren can't be Cherokee, because she is "too white" in appearance.

Elizabeth Warren (1986)

So what would Scott Brown have to say about the head of the Cherokee Nation? Does he fit in with Brown's stereotypical view of "injuns"?

I have a sneaking suspicion that this thread isn't about native American ancestry but more about political ideology, political baiting and trolling for stars and flags.

Exactly. I am so offended by Brown and his staff and outraged that they talk like this as if it's normal conversation and a legitimate argument to question the validity of another persons heritage. I'm part Native American and I DARE him to tell me I don't look like it.

That's not really the point and I'm amazed you don't seem to get it. YOU OUGHT TO BE OUTRAGED AT ELIZABETH WARREN!!!

Elizabeth Warren may very well be 1/32nd Native American. But culturally she grew up as white as someone direct from Scotland. But when she entered academia she began to claim she was "Native American" to take advantage of affirmitive action. Her first university bragged that they now had on their faculty their first "woman of color." What a complete crock!

Do you get it yet? She used a dubious claim of Native American heritage to get to the head of the line. That's despicable. Affirmitive Action was designed to help people who grew up disadvantaged, who, because of their color or religion, endured discrimination, poverty, and a whole manner of social ills. Now just what has Elizabeth Warren endured in that regard? Nothing. She grew up in a middle-class white culture.

If you really are Native American, and especially if you are culturally native American, i.e.: You grew up on the Rez and faced everything from alcoholism to poverty and crime, then your OUTRAGE ought to be directed at Elizabeth Warren for ursurping your culture, stealing it out from underneath you to advance herself.

Brown and his staff have it exactly right. Elizabeth Warren is a complete fraud. Supporting Warren in this is completely delusional.

So in a case like this when I do not know enough to judge what her background is I would just keep my mouth shut, Instead this idiot now has the Cherokee nation coming after him because his staff is full of idiots. I get the guy is losing and is desperate but, the last thing you do is start attacking people based on how you think they should look. That is just common sense. If he had any evidence then that would be one thing but, he clearly does not. My granmother on my fathers side was full blooded Cherokee and I am about as white as you can get.

Let me try this again.
Thank you to another poster for help in posting pics in the thread without having to upload them to ATS first.

Scott Brown CLAIMS HE CAN TELL ELIZABETH WARREN IS NOT CHEROKEE.
He claims that, not me.
He has been very specific about how just looking at her, HE CAN TELL she is too white to be Cherokee.

NOT ME. I THINK HE IS AN IDIOT FOR SAYING IT. My apologies to the sarcasm impaired, logic impaired, slow readers, and chin strap droolers for not spelling this out in a much more lengthy and detail explanatory manner. I honestly thought I got my point across just fine.

Oddly enough, some of the posters I greatly admire on this forum got it. One of them failed miserably. The rest of you must have just wanted to argue and did not have time to read/understand the OP.

So I hope this helps.

After Scott Brown says it in a debate, makes it part of his speeches, takes out ads making this attack, and basically forms his entire campaign around "Warren looks to white to be Cherokee to me" then I really have to wonder what he, not me, SCOTT BROWN - NOT ME- SCOTT has to say about being able to tell if this man is too white to be Cherokee as well.

Anyone that still thinks I am saying she is too white to be Cherokee please tell your handler to take you to the day room and let someone else monkey on the magic talking box.

The stupidity here burns, it really burns.

Hey, can you tell me how in the hell you get the idea I am stereotyping anyone?
Can any of the people that did not even read the OP please go back and read it and then tell me exactly why you are flaming me for something I not only did not say, but was trying to point out myself as being wrong to begin with.

Anyone?

Blackmarketeer please come explain to these people what this thread was about.

I am proud of my heritage, but ultimately more proud to be a human being who doesn't see what race, culture, or country of origin has much to do with anything.

Did you feel insulted because you did not understand my post?
Please tell me what I needed to include to make it easier for you to understand.
This is sincere. I did not realize I had to write things on a 3rd grade level or lower here but now I know.
You tell me how to help you understand better.

I honestly think you jumped the gun, did not get it, lashed out at me out of complete ignorance and now want to blame me for your failing simply because I pointed it out.

It was either let you ignorantly call me a racist
Or correct you.

You tell me what I should have done better for you.

here's one for you.
one of the most well known photographs in U.S. history.

Migrant Mother

does she look white to you?
bet you didn't know she was Cherokee.

She was born Florence Leona Christie on Sept. 1, 1903, in the Indian Territory of the Cherokee Nation, to which both of her parents claimed blood rights. Her father, Jackson Christie, had served time in prison and abandoned her mother, Mary Jane Cobb, before Florence was born. Her mother remarried Charles Akman, of Choctaw descent, in the spring of 1905, and together they raised Florence on a small family farm in Indian Territory outside Tahlequah, Okla

I would have to agree with you on this one. They don't all look the same as not all white people look the same as not all black people look the same...

I have some Native American in me and you would never know it by looking at me.

How many of you watched this debate? I'll do my best to explain.

Elizabeth Warren has claimed Native American Ancestry on her applications, taking advantage of affirmative action to advance her career.

The Scott Brown campaign looked into her background and found that she does not have any traceable Native ancestry and called Warren out to prove it.

During the debate, Warren half admitted that she could not prove her ancestry. She attempted to skirt the question by claiming that her family always told her she did have native blood, so that is why she put it on her applications. In other words, she can't prove it but her actions were not malicious due to the fact that her family told her it was true.

After that came to light during the debate, Brown said "as you can see" she is not, in fact, Native American.

Now his words are being twisted into rhetoric like the OP and so many in this thread that have no idea what they are talking about. I know the truth isn't important anymore but I thought I'd share that with the few that read this.

BTW, Scott Brown sucks. Warren is a liar. What else is new?

Warren's grandfather (Everett Reed) was part Delaware, from the Oklahoma Indian territory. Her grandmother was part Cherokee.

Warren bears a strong resemblance to her grandfather.

Interviews with her family shows how much their family heritage was a sore point for them, as they say, “it was not popular in my family. [snip] It was not the most popular thing to do in Oklahoma. [Indians] were degraded, looked down on.”

And Scott Brown is a clueless and despicable arse for making an issue of her race. So what are Scott Brown's position's on the issues? "Herp Derp, Elizabeth Warren is not Indian-looking..." That is literally the only thing he is running on.

Native American is a great way to land all kinds of benefits, government money, advantages and of course... access to the Casino market. The only Indian Casino I've ever been in as soon as you walk in there was a giant statue of a wooden bear and beside it a picture of a guy that looked almost identical to Chris Farley. It said "Chief".
