It seems like some kind of Native American virus is going around, the "whiteness" of tribal leaders increases based on the number of casinos they own.
If they don't watch out they'll end up with blue blood as well.

Just because he looks White doesn't mean anything. My Mother is 1/4 Cherokee and looks a combination of White and Aboriginal. I on the other hand look completely White.. Being only 1/8 Cherokee it is diluted in me.

There are a lot of fair skinned natives. The Tsalagi were of the first to really get bred out with white settlers. Wilma Man Killer was very light skinned. It has been said by various Native American studies professors that Crazy Horse was fair skinned. There are many others. Another thing to consider is, most tribes in this country go by blood quantum, so you cannot walk around saying you are a native when you aren't.

Exactly. I am so offended by Brown and his staff and outraged that they talk like this as if it's normal conversation and a legitimate argument to question the validity of another persons heritage. I'm part Native American and I DARE him to tell me I don't look like it.

Maybe Elizabeth Warren IS part Native American...why is that an issue for Scott Brown unless he is just desperate. So what, she checked a box...if she IS of native American descent, that was her right to do so. Has anyone checker her DNA yet? Is that where we are going as a nation? You are going to have to "prove" you ancestory" Is that not frightening to anyone? I can see shades of all kinds of terrible historic things in that line of thought....

Pretty freaking sad if you ask me. This dude is prob gonna lose his seat over being a tard and not actually debating issues...he went "argumentum ad hominem" and attacked the person and not the topics and issues....always a bad sign of character in my personal opinion.

Elizabeth Warren may very well be 1/32nd Native American. But culturally she grew up as white as someone direct from Scotland. But when she entered academia she began to claim she was "Native American" to take advantage of affirmitive action. Her first university bragged that they now had on their faculty their first "woman of color." What a complete crock!

Do you get it yet? She used a dubious claim of Native American heritage to get to the head of the line. That's despicable. Affirmitive Action was designed to help people who grew up disadvantaged, who, because of their color or religion, endured discrimination, poverty, and a whole manner of social ills. Now just what has Elizabeth Warren endured in that regard? Nothing. She grew up in a middle-class white culture.

If you really are Native American, and especially if you are culturally native American, i.e.: You grew up on the Rez and faced everything from alcoholism to poverty and crime, then your OUTRAGE ought to be directed at Elizabeth Warren for ursurping your culture, stealing it out from underneath you to advance herself.

Brown and his staff have it exactly right. Elizabeth Warren is a complete fraud. Supporting Warren in this is completely delusional.

I guess which I why I am so confused at the fact that Scott Brown was able to say it, repeat it, use it in attack ads, make it the basis of some of his speeches, and no one seems to care.

It would be one thing if it were just a slight mispeak on his part but it is practically his campaign. He is not promoting Scott Brown and what Scott Brown can do. He is running against the great "indian lie!"

If I remember correctly, since my wife is from Oklahoma, you only have to be 1/16th Native American (with proof) in order to register to get your card.

Just because someone looks or doesn't like their heritage hell I am Irish don't know the first thing about Irish culture or heritage.

Just like all those who claim whatever ancestry they want doesn't make them that if people are not satisfied with being an American that is them trying to sell themselves as something they are not.

Depends on the tribe. Cherokee are notoriously lax. There was a huge hooha over resources being abused by those who had no blood yet were enrolled recently and NO tribe uses DNA for proof of degree of indian blood. I understand WHY the comments were made. Very very well. The resources only go so far and she had resources some dont. She abused it. I wasnt allowed to use any resources. I was the first one born off rez and got school loans. My dad had issues with the BIA and I was taught not to use rez resources. For a mainstreamer to do so seems pretty deceitful IMO.
However, having been treated to the BS with ancestry... no one should say what one does or does not look like. He should have attacked her claims only in the vein of receiving things she is not entitled to.

A "person of color"? Is that how we describe native Americans now? Most are white in appearance and come from bloodlines extending back to ancient Siberia.
