The democratic party isn't interested in social justice.
If you look at left parties all over the world you'll see the democratic party in USA as a right wing party.
Liberalism isn't left. Socialism is. Liberalism is a right wing ideology (freedom, as in freedom from social responsability) and so is conservatism (keep status quo, keep the social hierarchy). The left are working for the workers. Showering money on wall street is the opposite of what the left would do. Both the rep. and dem. did this - saved a irresponsible capitalist system from itself. (So it now have mandate to do it all over again.)
Just because the right in USA is trying to sell the myth about real choice election time, don't make it so. For 60% of america rep. or dem. isn't a choice. If there is a fight between dem. and rep. it's about old money against new money. And that's not a fight between right and left.
Please take a look at the parties in europe and the world. There is no way you could call the democrats left when you look at the issues and compare.

At the same time we fight for a democratic, socialist Europe where the needs of working people come before the ruthless drive for profits by the multinational corporations.

Kill the myth about elections in USA being between left and right.
Thank you.

Okay, I think you are located INSIDE the us.

Believe me, from the outside both of your main parties are virtually right and super-right.

i don't go by what a political party is called, i vote for the party that best represents my interests....if you do not choose to vote because you see no difference, i'll disagree with that decision, but you have that right. but to encourage others NOT to vote because of your opinion, is totally unexceptable, and not worthy of discussion.

believe me when i say that there are alot of americans that agree with you...i long for the day when being a centrist was a well-reasoned, and noble position. when the people get tired of the wealthy and corporate, having so much power over our daily lives, they will then change.

The conservative will never keep tradition along with free market and the liberals of today have nothing to do with the ideology of liberalism that emerged from Locke, Voltaire and Spinoza.

Truth is the united State is a socialist country with the democrats and republicans both in the middle picking from the political spectrum as they seem fit with circumstances.

The whole left-right paradigm is a joke. It is statism vs individualism. Freedom vs statism. Personal responsibility vs government responsibility. As for me, give me freedom and liberty I accept the responsibility.

Not sure about the rest of Europe but back in the 90s the Left in the UK moved to the right and the Right moved to the left.

After "She who must not be named" was kicked out, John Major took the Conservatives more towards the left. Tony Blair took over the Labour party and "New Labour" moved towards the right. This is what Clinton in the U.S. did too, before Blair.

The middle of the road, is pretty much where most voters are. If you leave party politics out of the equation and ask voters about specific issues you find most agree with some of both parties platforms.

Of course now we have a Right wing backlash. Cameron in the U.K. is trying the same failed polices of "She who must not be named" and in the U.S. we have the Tea Party.

The problem is the same over here in the UK. Left and right is what defined the parties originally. Labour was traditionally the party of the working man, the left. Conservatives the party of the monied, the right. Unfortunately peoples ideas havent changed much, some people would vote for a squid as long as it wore a specific colour rosette. Take Labour oversaw the largest rise in the gap between rich and poor and there are still people who consider them the party of the working man, when they came to power average house price was 3 times average salary, by the time they were removed average house price 8 times average salary, they had the largest tax take rise in the same period and still managed to spend all that and increase borrowing.

The whole political spectrum in the US has moved to the right in recent years (last 40 or so). This year, the right is SO FAR right, they are slipping off the edge into the abyss. And the left is more centrist and, IMO, is growing.

I don't care about or vote for political parties, but I can see that what was once the Democratic party is taking up the space that used to be "the center", which is where I think the whole country should be, anyway. And the right is sliding toward extremism and eventual extinction.

Waaaambulance what?
Not workers - !WORKERS! It's not an ugly word.
And they should get what they work for, what they've earned. Is that really so hard to accept? (And so should the establishment.)
I don't know why a classless society means so much to me. Biology? Can't stand a grown man beating up a kid. Can't stand business selling poison to people and calling it food. Can't stand a system taking 16 time more out of africa then putting in and then demand being called just and caring.
Why should I be okay with 99% being in a lifetime of servetude to 1%?
Why aren't you focusing an a classless society?

What about communism? You want to derail this thread? OFF TOPIC!

Might be a drop in the desert, but I'll keep screaming it from the rooftops.
