The Jewish New Year that began last week doesn't seem to hold much optimism for Israeli citizens: A majority rates the chance of a war breaking out with Iran in the coming year as "high" or "medium," according to a new Haaretz-Dialog survey.

And half of Israelis say they either "fear" or "greatly fear" for the state's continued existence if such a war breaks out.

Only a quarter of those questioned said they do not fear for the state's future in a scenario in which Israel and Iran go to war. So

It would seem that the people closest to the would be effected area are very concerned with what might happen to not only them , but to their very countries existence .

If I were a betting man I would say that the Nuke card is being played to goat Israel into attacking Iran so that Iran can retaliate on a large scale .

The people of Israel realize that it doesn't take a nuke to wipe out their controlling rule of Israel , but rather a massive bombardment of a few key cities .

It will be interesting to hear what Netanyahu has to say at the UN and what case he presents to the assembly , epically when you take the recent US snubs into account . Will Israel let the Iran issue go , or will the government of Israel decide to attack Iran ?

They should fear for the states existence regardless of war.

Many in the global community are pushing for some type of compromise that leads to a solution that results in a regression of Jewish influence on the land called Israel.

I don't like the idea of anyone living in fear, regardless of their religion or nationality.

Fear leads to irrational actions, the last thing needed in Israel, Iran, or anywhere else in the region.

I still don't understand... why has war not broken out already? All the "red lines" Israel has talked about have been crossed, yet no action. Is this all just saber rattling?

There has not been a break out of WAR because of FEAR of what the U.S. would do if someone or group decided to Dirty Bomb or bring in a TRUCK loaded with an OLD STYLE FISSION WARHEAD.

because the smart people in power know, that this war would be devestating, and effect everyone, literally WW3.
