Why is a one world order an inherantly bad idea?

I've been thinking a lot about this recently. I saw a thread created earlier asking if there is such a thing and was prepared to respond, but the response was too long-winded and went off topic slightly, so I decided to create this thread.

A few years ago I'd have said a one world governent was a bad idea...now I'm starting to think we're fighting against progress and salvation. I'm even starting to question free speech - I know that sounds odd. But we're intolerant creatures. The whole embargo with the recent anti-islam film is another instance in our modern history which proves this. Free speech comes at a price...we can offend and be offended and many of us simply can't handle that. People will never be at peace as long as there is freedom of speech because we're intolerant and many of us can't take it when someone says something they don't like. I've seen evidence of this all through my life, I once saw one guy hit another guy over an argument about a television show, a riot ensued...people aren't ready to live in unity.

The only way humans will live in absolute harmony among each other is when they all think the same. There will always be someone, an entrepreneur who uses his situation to gain advantage. There will always be someone who will take what they want by force. There will always be those who seek to be more powerful.

The only real option for humanity is for us all to come under the same set of rules or laws. To be governed and dictated to, to be watched and controlled because we're simply not ready or able to be anything else. Those with the drive and the will to rise above it be it using brains or braun are destined to lead us and control us.

I'm starting to think I'm looking at it all wrong, things suck because we're fighting against it and it could be what eventually unites us. As individuals we know who and what we are, but we can never be sure of anyone else, we can't assume that all other people are good natured, decent, and want what's best for everyone because it isn't the reality we live in. Do those against a one world order think that we can overcome this somehow? How, by programming? Conditioning? Hmmm...we are what we are. Bringing the world together under one, global rule might take time, and there'd surely be struggles, wars...deaths and attrocities...but we have that anyway. We have that and with no goal or end in sight...with a view to achieving what?

If there's a one world government...who will they start wars with? Themselves? Why would a supposed war-mongering government want to be in a situation where they've nobody to start wars with? Civil war would exist only because we'd struggle against the mighty powers that be. We need order and rules, we need some form of control, it's inevitable. The only alternative I see is anarchy...this is what we have now. People, apathetic...doing what they live...it's everywhere.

People scream and shout about the police states we live in...it's 1984, maybe that's what we need. Look at what's going on around the world, we fight because we're divided. We'll fight against the chance to unite. There will always be anarchy, wars, crime...because we don't want the alternatives.

Do people really believe it's possible for everyone to live in perfect harmony? What is an ideal world, anyway? How would a utopia function? How long before some anomaly arises and takes control? Is there a realistic alternative to a one world government? Why do people assume a one world government would be inherantly oppressive when it might be the way forward?

I don't know what to think any more, sometimes I think everyone secretly wants a dictatorship...because everyone wants it their way and nobody's idea of a perfect world is the same...we all want a dictatorship where we're the dictator. For prerfect unity or harmony to exist we'd all have to be on the same page.

Any thoughts? Try and be civil, I'm only jotting down some thoughts.

it would become homogeneous... imagine a whole world that is politically correct by legislation?

i agree with the concept, but while we require other people to represent ourselves at some government body, we can never truly be sure whose interests they serve.

the only global system i would support is some kind of direct democratic representation.

no parliaments, or congress. just me, and you, directly involved in things at a local level, and contributing at a global level to the betterment of all things.

as best as one can anyway.

Run by the people who would want that much power it is a very dangerous thing indeed... We're talking about killers here, what would make them stop killing now that there is only one side to the government? Nothing, that's what.

Otherwise one world government is an obvious good thing, but not now... No.

A one-world-order inherently implies that a small group of individuals (small as compared to the number of people who don't have that kind of status) would have the power to make decisions that, quite literally, affect the entire world.

Looking back at history, I see far more examples of such power corrupting a man, than of such power being handled responsibly. To be succinct, it's too much temptation for anyone to handle. None of us possesses the wisdom and integrity to rule the world from such a high and mighty throne.

It would be a living hell. I prefer to let you speak your mind and possibly be offended by what you say. I could always ignore you or walk away.

Cause it's an oligarchy.

Which is really what you have now, the NWO just gives them the freedom of saying so in public, and not having to hide their nefarious agendas.

So I mean, yeah, it's good and ideally, the best solution to have one world government, but since we can't keep corruption and scum out of nations like Canada, with it's relatively low population, how do you think the rest of the world would fare?

Some interesting replies...I don't have the answers, but I'm curious as to realistic alternatives. Personally I don't think we'll ever be united under a one world government be it good or bad. I think we're destined to sppend the future fighting, killing, hating.

I honestly say this in the most respectable tone possible....

People who think like this scare the living hell out of me. You scare me.

What is an ideal world, anyway?

Obedience and subjection to authority is intrinsically at odds with the way human beings come to live satisfying lives. I think the highest goal of humanity could be realized through the emancipation of all mankind from the arbitrary rule of others. Freedom.

it's not a bad idea, it's just being implemented in a bad way.

out of fear and not out of love.

the op confirms it.

it's insecurities and fears of others pushing the need for this false unity.
true unity should come out free of ulterior motives.

I like to eat, and should this "perfect world" you speak of we would all be the same size and shape. The irony is this, one of the things so loved and held in life I enjoy the diversity of humanity... one other thing is "who watches the watchers?"

It's a legitimate question. I asked a similar one a while back. NWO or Type 1 Civilization? Fear seems to be the overriding response against humanity coming together....

Somehow we gotta pull our act together as a species or I'm afraid we wont last very much longer.

Well, sorry for scaring you, it wasn't my intention.

I don't think I have all the answers, quite the contrary. I'm simply asking what people want or invisage . I don't see people changing...as a species we're pretty nasty, selfish, it's not getting any better it's getting worse.

I prefer order to anarchy. People don't seem to want to make sacrifices or compromises. People nowadays have an overwhelmingly strong sense of entitlement. If they can't get what they want fairly they'll take it.

I'm trying to break away from the fantasy, the outlandish claims that are made and think about it realistically. We're not ready to live without war, without crime. People will always be ignorant, selfish and corrupt.

We have people with enough moral standing to implement and keep a NWO going for the good of all.

Those individuals have a label now.

Extremists.

Some nasty individuals have a cookie sheet of what they believe we should be. They think there are defects in the sheet. They fear those defects above all else.

Defective and proud to be.

Indeed, people talk about it like it's the concept itself that's wrong. If we knew for a fact that those at the top had our best interests at heart and were good, just people then I don't think it would be bad. But that's not realistic.

Kinda bummed that I scared someone to be honest...I just want to know what people think or want, everyone wants something different. I'm sick of talk of awakenings, times-a-changin, veils coming down and it'll all be ok. If there's a sinister force trying to distract us it will work hard at it...I don't see much outwardly pro one-world-government propaganda but I see a lot of anti one-world-gov't propaganda out there.

Seems the side that's pushing it's agenda is the one people should be questioning

What I fear happening in a NWO, is that the people in power will be the ones already there, the ones who already care little for our best interests, and throw us collectively under the bus for profit and power. They don't care about us. They care about greed and power. They know that people are waking up, and they fear us taking their power and fortunes. They can't let that happen. There are so few of them, they won't need many of us to do their bidding in the jobs beneath them. Keep the best scientists, artists, and thinkers, a few others for service jobs, while the rest of us can leave the planet (die) to make it more habitable (sustainable) for them. As a matter of fact, I am fairly certain that this is happening right now. So please, think this one through a little more before you pick a side. It does sound like a great idea on the surface, though.

In theory it would work very well, we could eliminate war, and hunger once and for all. all the money we would save could be put to use finding cures for age old diseases and inventing new technology for space travel, food production, clean energy. We might even be able to create robotic technology to do everything for us so no one would have to work and everyone could have everything they want for free.

In reality though the greedy, egotistical, sociopaths would want to be in control of the world government so that they could make everyone into slaves.

OK Let me understand this. I have a wife and 3 children. I USED to work ONE job to pay for my family.

I now work TWO full time jobs to make what I used to make. And I'm not complaining, I have the job skills to get the old pay. I'm lucky that way.

NOW what? You want me to work THREE full time jobs to feed the world? How?

The question is WHO is distributing MY hard work for the WHOLE world ? YOU?

WHO? WHO is getting PAYED to distribute MY hard EARNED money? WHO?

How much are they getting payed to decide who gets what? And who doesn't get a "taste"?

Call it whatever you want. Illuminanti,New World Order,Socialism,Communism,What EVER!

I can't afford to pay for 7BILLION people. Where do you want to let me keep a "taste"?

I can't work 3 full time jobs.

Cheers!

We will never rid humanity of evil do-ers. We all feel we've this right to live happy "satisfying" lives. How many humans throughout our history were satisfied by murder, cannibalism, rape? Too many to count.

And I scare you? I don't think I'm inherantly entitled to anything, right in society are conditional...you have to labide by the rules.

There's this attitude among people, especially now...that they are entitled to so much. I work and contribute to a system that rewards and promotes laziness. People with no direction or function in society, wouldn't it be funny if we were visited by an alien species who on their home planet wered divided over some religious ideals and inhabited by a load oflazy minded, selfish people whose only real interest in life was being "satisfied"

One mans satisfaction is anothers torture.

The more centralised authority, government or economic, becomes the less power the people have.

A good example is Federal government not respecting state law.

Local communities should be autonomous imo, not controlled by outside authority that is so removed it has no idea what local communities need.

What makes you think you'd need to work 3 jobs?

What is this thread about? That's....a really odd response and I don't get your point. Who said you'd be forced to work to pay for anything? I assume that you already pay tax through the 2 jobs you already have? Do you think you'd still continue to pay that tax and also be required to contribute in some other way? I don't understand where you're coming from.

Talk about paranoia...you've taken an idea or concept and apprently built some false reality around that based on some bizarre assumption?

Just to add, I work too. I don't have kids, or a wife...so I don't need a second job...you made your bed, right? Not once did I think when writing this thread - hang about...I'm going to have to get another job! Please, enlighten me how you arrived at this false reality?
