They'd label you a communist infiltrator, drag you before the Senate Committee on UnAmerican Activities, find you insane, give you electroshock and insulin therapy treatments... Deem you cured after awhile. buy you a tacky suit, make you get a tacky haircut, and then offer you a good job, a nice house in the burbs, and you'd marry a woman who'd meet you at the front door, each and every day, with a martini in one hand, your pipe. slippers, and paper in the other, and who'd say "Hello Dear, how was your day?" before scurrying off to cook you food so soaked in cholesterol that you'd die 4 years later, happy and having totally forgotten the future ( electroshock works ).

Oh and you'd be able to be an awesome classic car and drive it drunk, without a seatbelt... legally.

The more I see what is going on around me these days, the more that movie scares me. Because, it's absolutely not that far fetched.

I'm also reminded of the Eloi from the Time Machine, who would watch their fellow citizen die rather than help, because it is just how it is. (the old movie, not the new one)

That is already how a lot of people think.. they'll walk around someone bleeding to death on the ground... Hell, even steal his wallet. He won't be needing it.

Haha but that image is priceless, and not because it's ironically explaining the future to straights... But because we've become so shallow that the fact people tweet about breakfast - or colonoscopy - is of any interest to the mass populace.

Judge Judy on the telly, Cage fighting on the sports channel, big brother on the stupids channel, survivor on the why channel... and when we can't get real situations on camera, we'll make them up - Repo men. Wresting, why not!

Look at me dancing, and now I'm on a cooking show, and now I'm a judge on Americas got Talent. Now I'm an alcoholic no-body only remembered for my boobs and that one song I did in 1985. But Imma be an icon for the future. Just like Paris Hilton.

Waaargh I'm driving myself into a frenzy.... Must put on Hatebreed to calm down.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone like this comes to power.

Well if I tried to tell the people in the 50s in my town about the future they would probably politely escort me out of town (with loaded shotguns pointed at my back) while mumbling something under their breaths about "must be one of those crazy G__d__ city folks"!

You will end up in jail, and probably in a mental institution.

Imagine, going back to Year um 500 and telling them that there are "animals" in drops of water, and stars are not lights attached to a dark roof.
