If you know drywall, then, drilling those holes, or even cutting a sizable one for a look, where you then patch and repaint/texture over, might be a
pain, but, certainly doable.
I would, however, recommend calling police next time.
Forget security. Call police FIRST, THEN call security to inform them that police are on the way so they won't drag their booties.
I had a friend that once lived in an apartment across the hall from a drug dealer, and due all the suspicious activity, being a former Marine Corps
recon specialist, he logged EVERYTHING, took pictures of everyone that came and went, as well as their vehicles and license plates, kept bothering the
police letting them know he was keeping a log, and eventually when the SWAT teams showed up, he handed over a copy of the log material burned to DVDs
to the investigating officers.
Key words that police seem to like to hear are "funny smells", "burning smells", "strong chemical odor", "guns". "lots of foot traffic".
I think one of the Mods/owners/site admins/staff here at ATS is/was in law enforcement.
Finding out who that was/is and sending them a U2U for advice might be a good bet.
No smells, and so far, havent seen guns- its mostly foot traffic, tho. A few odd things I noticed was when they'd have the door wide open, and I'd
glance that way to make sure I dont get run over- There's next to no furniture in the living room. "wood" (linoleum) floors, yet, we hear furniture
being moved several times a week. HEAVY furniture. There was one day, I was headed out. I come out the door, start to lock it, and the door next door
went "click". Nothing else. I thought it was odd, started up the walkway, and VERY quietly.. someone snuck out the door and was behind me. Not in a
'robbery sneak'- more of a "if I dont make noise, no one will notice me" sneak.
I think there's an illegal immigration station next door more than drugs- but I could be wrong.
As for the cops... Ugh. Corrupt doesnt cover my experiences with them. Incompetent might cover the other half.
Here's why: (from a thread about "this is why we dont respect cops". Easier to cut and paste)
Me and my g/f lived in a boarding house for a while. A true, actual, literal lunatic moved in down the hall. He ate his walls, wallowed in trash,
screamed and yelled stuff that not only made no sense, it was insane enough to send shivers down the spine of a statue.
One night, he broke into all of the other rooms. ALL of the doors are busted in but his. We called the cops, who belittled US, insulted US, threatened
US, and not only took his side, they did proper police procedure when he claimed the stuff he stole from US was his AND it had been stolen! the cops
sided with the criminal against all of the residents AND the owner of the property.
After the cops said they 'checked' his room- 95% of the stuff was found in it- RIGHT where we told the cops to look. He'd left by then.
I will be documenting, tho. that way, if worse comes to worst, I will have my bottom covered legally.
I dont say this lightly: if I could find an non corrupt cop, I'd be talking to him about this.
