Idiocy of this magnitude can be expected and even excused if he was a 10 year old, but this guy wants to hold the office of the president of the united states of america, one of the most powerful offices in the world.
keep rationalizing and making excuses for idiots like this and we will end up with forrest gump as president and all his cousins in congress.
too many americans are willing to accept mediocrity and idiocy in their leaders and then they are shocked by the stupid decisions that the leaders make.
i`m embarrassed and disgusted with everyone who supports having morons like this hold the highest office in america.

This reminds me of a time during my college years when I took a music class. My instructor was a great musician and actress which spent quite a while in NYC working in shows.

I had to write a paper for my midterm and at the time I didn't have a printer but I did have a cd writer on my pc. So i burned it on my pc and turned it in to her. The next week she handed back all of our papers except mine. I asked her what my grade was and she said he had trouble getting my paper off the disk. She tried to explain to me what she was trying to do and i was completely confused. After class I went back to her office I asked her to show me what she was having problems with. Well she put the cd in her cd player instead of into her computer. She was trying to play the cd......Even though I had written data cd and the name of the paper on the cd. She then put the cd into her computer and tried to play it with her windows media player... I had to step in and open the file for her then print it.


She was a very good musician and was very knowledgeable when it came to the arts but she didn't have much common sense when it came to technology

OP I hope someone craps on you really hard when you make an honest mistake about something not related to your profession and goes on to state how you are unfit to do your profession.

I guess anyone would have better chance to be successful if they are born with a silver spoon in their mouth, you know, where you are automatically enrolled in top Ivy leagues, tuition paid off etc.



honest mistake about something not related to your profession and goes on to state how you are unfit to do your profession


He is the president, he will have say in every decision, decision that will impact the entire country, he is not managing one thing like music. If he didn't know the results of an atomic bomb, wouldn't he be more eager to use it as a retaliation?

No she was not. That is not even the point. The point is just because he is stupid about some things it does not mean he is stupid about his profession. I do not see you having as much success in politics or business so what room do you have to talk about his ability in these areas???

If what he has done does seems wrong it may seem wrong to you because it does not benefit you but it sure does benefit him so what he does makes perfect sense.

When i go to my mechanic all i want him to know is cars, when i go to doctor i just want him to know medicine. If both believe the earth is flat i don't give a flying puck as long as they know their job.

You might think he does not know his job but all i have to say is score board. where are you and where is he??

I am pretty sure you are pretty dumb on somethings, does that disqualify you from your profession?? should someone crap on you for it too??

Really? really. I do not have his cash- but I am magnitudes more successful than *he* will ever be. I can draw, I can sculpt, I am creative, have a great sense of humor- I have many good things under my belt that this hair pile will *never* have. Any idiot can make money.
Same goes for the goober brain running the country now.

MONEY. Is worthless. Brains, talent, creativity, ability to find resources, either for hobbies or to live- THAT is success.

Edit: I reread some of the posters. To be a good leader of all sorts of people- he has to KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THEM. A renaissance man. Someone of many talents, many backgrounds- a jack of all trades. Look at past presidents... they had hobbies, they had interests, they knew what made people go. Now- we get college educated scum scraped off the school toilet.

The other is doing something with it. he could have just been happy being rich and sat around not doing a dam thing. there are plenty of rich kids who are just content with being born rich and never do anything more than be a spoiled brat.

If the electorate is not going to judge who is best for their political leaders, who is? It IS my job to judge his competence, whether I run for office or not. As a US citizen, it is absolutely my job.

That's certainly your prerogative. If my doctor wears special underwear that protect him from evil, and doesn't seem to have much common sense, I'm going to find another freaking doctor! That's my prerogative.

Yeah, but here's the thing... his business basically involved a very small specialised skillset and a particular attitude.

It's wholly debatable if those skills are transferable to the Presidency and whether or not his attitude is appropriate for being the leader of our country.

It's also debatable whether or not things like a basic understanding of science and maths, or in the case of someone like Dan Quayle, spelling and history, are important...

BUT... it is completely up to the electorate to deign what is important and if a candidate has it...

I don't think he has the proper attitude toward the majority of American, or toward the role of governement, I also don't think he's really smart enough for the job... that's my prerogative and my opinion..

I've lived in a state he's "managed" and don't think he's competent.... but even if I hadn't, I've watched this campaign; if he ran America like he ran his political campaign, we'd be a lot worse off then we are now, shortly.

Exactly. In a scenario (well, this IS ATS) where aliens take over- ANY recent president would be worth less than ****. They'd go by the script, the world (obviously) would lose, or be losing, and they'd run off to a hole, whimpering a token "oh, our poor species!" just before the wine is poured and the fancy foods put out. To run ANYTHING- a business, a daycare, your own "I can make things" gig on a website- you have to know MORE than 1-2 skills- like business law and marketing! You have to know everything about what you're getting into- and there will be subjects one would not even relate to their niche that will be important!

I hate to use movie/ tv show examples... but someone who is a combination of Macgyver, Jamie Hyneman from mythbusters, and mebbe a little Jim Carey or Robin Williams would make a far better president than these business marketing lawyers we are having shoved up our as-ummm- noses. Why those people? Resourcefulness, multi talent, ability to think out of the box- and HUMOR. Oh brother- do these imbeciles in govt need a sense of humor! Financial success means NOTHING. It's even less when said person(s) are already rich, steal to get richer, and care not for anyone else.

Also, someone who knows who the hell they are representing. They do NOT just represent hispanics, blacks, muslims, christians, jews- or whatever appeals to their voting woodie of the moment! Every last (legal) person in this country is a HUMAN first, and whatever the hell their ethnic/ religious/ whatever second. I'll still discount illegals- because they are criminals. No one will ever change my mind on that. I dont like being robbed. (and yes... they have. Multiple times). Pandering to *a* group- and not even one that is specifically tied to this country is pretty much treason. The constitution does say "WE THE PEOPLE"- not we, the (insert your ethnic origin here, insert your religion here)! As such:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[note 1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Not one iota of mention of race, creed, color, (inter)national origin, religion, NADA. An educated, intelligent person would realize this first and foremost.

NEITHER choice for president understands this.

And there is the "Big Lie"...that people with lots of money are the only ones that work hard in this country.

The soldier in Afganistan, putting his life on the line for his country with three kids and wife back in the states..

The teacher that has worked 30 years teaching kids in the inner city.

The garbageman who might not have been able to go to college but has worked two jobs his entire life to feed his kids, put a roof over thier heads and teach them difference between right and wrong and give them the shot at college he never had.

It is a disgusting premise...And it is offensive to everyone in America, rich or poor, that works thier ass off and quitely measures thier "success" everytime they tuck thier kids into bed each evening knowing the are teaching them well.....and for many of us, one of those lessons is that "success" in life is not measured by dollar signs.

Romney has a tendency to double down on his rhetoric when he makes a mistake like when he attacked Obama for a statement released by the embassy condemning the movie that sparked riots leading to the death of several US citizens either unaware or ignoring the fact that Obama had no hand in that. Earning him the reputation of shooting first and aiming later.

I agree we do not need a pilot but I expect a presidential candidate to have common sense. The idea that the Presidency is best suited being run by a businessman is still up for debate and deserves a thread all its own however I have reservations with Romney’s history, credentials and practices while working at Bain Capital and sense he has been less than forthcoming with that information I am not looking that as favorable.

Public speaking should be essential for anyone to be an effective world leader maybe you forgot how much damage Bush did to how the US was looked at by the rest of the world. That was something I was very aware of because I travel quite a bit each year and I can attest to how bad it was.

I would prefer that the president be right and not tell me what he thinks. Romney has laid out what he thinks is wrong and advocates more trickledown economics. More Tax cuts for wealthy is not going to fix this country.

Romney is bound to a pledge he signed to never raise taxes. He is in the pocket of every corporation that has helped him buy the Republican primaries. He will never tell you what he really thinks. If you want to know his true thoughts there have been several recordings released to the public where he has made clear what his true thoughts are. You should watch them if your truly wish is to hear what he really thinks.
