They'd be cooler than that and more stealthy me thinks then when the time is right without warning they'd Stri...

apparently their ships has been upgraded in the last 60 yrs (time on earth goes really fast)
in the world they come from its probably 600yrs that has passed
like they got time to waste at travelling slow when they have FTL tech
with no heavy gravity around like earth have .. more like in a blink of an eye if they want to travel here

but i agree that it was a meteor breaking up in the sky yesterday in the UK
it was blueish and beautiful .. wish i could found a piece of it for my rock collection !
always wanted a space rock

Amd what possible threat would the internet pose to Aliens?
All those who believe in their existence are glued to their laptops/computers/tablets/phones, tapping away . but not blasting away.
The rest do not even look up at sky..alien fear not the net.

Actually OP I saw a beautifully awesome fireball from a meteor about 10 years ago. It streaked across the sky had a long tail and lit up the surrounding area like it was broad daylight.

Our Universe is amazing

When doing an invasion, cutting the enemy's communication is the first thing you want to do.
And i doubt that an alien species would give us any sort of reaction time if they really wanted to invade Earth.

I know i didn't, last time i destroyed a bee nest with a 100 firecrackers. Twenty years ago...

Maintaining the element of surprise - the internet is a world wide communication network...just thought they may want to take down communication...

It would be pretty arrogant of an invasion force to not take the time to crash any communications networks of their enemy

There is one from new Zealand today.

Unless of course they control it?..already...or indeed invented it?
You only neutralise threats not incidentals.
Incidental things can distract, and be of a benefit to an invading force.
The cessation of internet.. fully ..would alert even skeptical earthlings.?

Improbable things do occur.

All of you need to listen to me.
My backyard is now crawling with aliens.

Lights from the sky indicate an evasion.
You all think I'm crazy and deluded?
Inch by inch the invaders are closing in on my doorstep.
Nobody can hide from them.
Good bye.

Totally possible...distraction is a good tactic as well...

Guess we'll see if we're ever invaded

Hopefully I'd be at least be able to get a color selector for my ray gun - you know, for those days days you feel like green plasma instead of blue plasma

Wasn't it (I'm getting old, so my memory isn't great and it's in the middle of the night and I'm too lazy to look it up)... sorry for the digression, but wasn't it Ed Grimsly who was on C2C talking about the nightvision binocs that enabled him to see "battles" in near-Earth space between unknown opposing forces?

Flash Gordon stuff, yeah, but interesting nonetheless. Let's imagine the "meteor" was not garden variety, but a score by some Jedi knight (maybe a U.S.N. Space Command ace) and the resulting pieces of the kill made a cool light show upon disintegrating into our atmosphere. I wonder if the U.S.N.Space Fleet ship crews get to paint kill count symbols on their 'fuselage' next to Betty Grable.

If we're dukin' it out with the ET's toe-to-toe, all I can say is Yeeee-Haaaaa. A feller could have a pretty good time in Vegas with this stuff.

Reports of fireballs streaking across nations as far apart as Australia and England , occurring in the last few days, reports of communications going haywire, is this an invasion?
Ok where is the evidence?
Exactly.
In times of actual war, all the action goes unreported until invasion foothold is secured.
There are so many eye witness accounts of objects acrossBitain, Australia, New Zealand ect ..but even ATS is relatively silent.

Evidence? There was a meteor shower over the UK. That's it.

Please post links to comms goinng haywire. I live in Australia, nothing going wrong here, no meteors I know about, my TV works fine so does my mobile phone.

I also agree with previous posters. An alien invasion with ships that burn up as they enter our atmosphere has to be one of the most epic intergalactic fails in the history of the universe!

I think we are safe for now.
