And as usual it has nothing to do with terrorist and neither our safety this is so the corporate dictatorship can gain more powers over the citizens because we all pose a danger to their totalitarianism.

So why would the FBI being able to 'snoop' around in suspect criminals and terrorists email/facebook/twitter/google accounts endanger your free speech? I'm not sure they're really that interested what the average chap on the street is # tagging about or who he 'likes'.

Thw truth is they just aren't interested.

The only reason they want this is to make what they;re already doing that little bit easier to do.

If you think you're likely a person of interest i can see why this would worry you but for someone who just sits back and obeys the rules we all have to live by for society to work it's just a shrug of the shoulders and a "so what".

For what it's worth I think it would be the people with the power who would have the most to lose from this, I really don't see how it would compromise the freedom of speech of the average man on the street such as you or I.

you are programmed by the matrix,
let me unplug you,
POP

the NDAA was designed for terrorists in forign lands,
but a group of american activists and journalists went to court to block it,
they said (and the court agreed) that this law would "chill" free speach

why?

because it could be used against anyone who disagreed with the govenment,
and if it passed people would "self sensor" to avoid risk of retribution,

what you suggest as "i am doing nothing wrong"
is like a public toilet with clear see through walls,
you aint doing nothing wrong but im sure you dont want everyone watching you crap

would you criticise the govenment if you knew they could read it?

bye bye free speach

wake up

because people dont label themselves as "terrorist" on their profiles the govenment must "troll" through everyones data, weather criminal or not.

this data is private and personal,

without a court order i could be harrased for my political beleifs,
through a simple back door.

i then stop speaking in case i am targeted from my sexual preference,
or my skin colour
or my socio-economic position in society

those who give freedom for security achive neither

You must not know that if someone is using your computer for nefarious reasons without your consent or without your knowing you are still on the hook for years behind bars and more money than your mortgage is worth. Still dont give a damned if they are allowed to do wat they want.

Did i miss anything? am i on a list yet?

I say we spam every where with their key words, keep their supercomputers working on sifting through all the rubbish. MIght as well get our tax moneys worth.

these retards forget they simply will not have enough hard drives to store ALL the volume of traffic generated.

even a 100 million hard drives will not be enough.as the volume of traffic just keeps increasing.it will be playing catch up all the time.

yes a very good idea.add some random encyrpted gibberish text files to every email also.

in fact just had greaT idea.

why not get software which randomly generates seemingly encrypted text files with the above magic words and sends them randomly with emails and on to your hard drive.

9/11 is just an excuse for tyranny.

i am sick and tired of hearing about 3500 american millionaires ad nauseam.

zero sympathy after 2 weeks of 24/7 coverage.

enough is enough.

other people die too you know.

It's a piece of piss for criminals to hack into any normal person computer anyway, these backdoors will make it possible for the police/FBI to fight back against the undesirables on behalf of us law abiding members of society.

I think you're just looking for any sort of reason to be against this sort of thing by claiming the crims would be able to waltz through onto anyones computer via these backdoors.

It would be rather brazen, and unnecessary, for the criminal element to decide to use the government/authoritative way of having a snoop around your computer or social media accounts.

There must 100 easier ways of doing it than that.

Personally, you Limeys always come on here sounding like goverment shills.....
Sometimes i think they have emasculated the whole nation chemically somehow......
It seems Brits dont quite get the fact that their goverment has almost stolen all the liberty they used to have......and they are happy with that.
Please take note that American people are NOT the same as British people.
We do not share the same cowed and broken attitudes that the British display towards authority.
We do not wish to be monitored 24/7by ANYONE, and we do not wish to allow the goverment into our private lives like some giant peeping Tom either.
britain has degenerated into the last stage before 1984....and the people need to grow a pair.

Which VPN Providers Really Take Anonymity Seriously?

AnonVPN

As far as OS goes, go linux:
Linux for paranoid

Windoze, try PeerBlock and add as many lists as possible but do not overdo it, or your pc will crawl to a halt.

What planet are you guys living on?

Those 'back doors' already exist!

They have existed for a long time...

Not only does your own computer treat you like a thief, but it also ACTIVELY spies on you.

Spend the time. Get informed. Go look at the encrypted sections of your OS, your browser, etc. etc.

Do you have ANY understanding of how business works in America?

Do you REALLY think a vendor that actually cared about your so-called privacy would be allowed to stay in business?

In case your are SLOOWWWWW on the uptake, let me spell it out for you.

You have ABSOLUTELY no privacy/anonymity of ANY kind.

And it's NOT just your computer.

Consider this...

Almost everyone one of you knows someone that has been busted for so-called 'kiddie porn'...

Do you REALLY think everyone of those guys was stupid enough to just leave evidence just laying around...

Just another outstanding thread here at ATS...

Go back to sleep... nothing to see here...

Your safe in your anonymity.
