He will give his speech and the US will walk out like normal, cant hear an original idea if you are from the west, heaven forbid he may say something logical.
It will also get very little coverage unless something is taken out of context.

Well...I guess statements such as " There are no gay people in Iran" or" The holocaust never happened" are something you could call original ideas......

But if you think much of what he says is logical...Well...There is a reason he got laughed at for making such claims.

Now on the other side of the coin, he HAS also made some nice gestures. Such as when he broadcast the live statement to the west wishing is a Merry Christmas and what not. I found that honorable....

And...my question I would like to ask the US government...If he is really so bad...Why are we letting him into the US to speak so often? Kind of makes one think he is not so much of a threat...Perhaps just a guy that makes stupid claims every now and then.

Considering he thinks that we steal Iran's rain, I don't think this'll look favorably on OWs. They already have a bad rep as Socialists and other malcontents. Unless they reject him, this will not look good for them.

already spinning this for your own use huh,
well i didnt expect less.

maby he wants to point out how occupy has been treated to police violence and unlawful dentention,
your narrow view of the world is sad,

the un is supposed to be a forum for discussions
not political walk outs and temper tantrums.

sad you dont understand diplomacy.

or democracy

Is there a location where one could find UN video of the speeches (besides the specific media coverage in youtube). I was also interested in examining some of Muammar Gaddafi interventions...

You may want to see if the speeches are archived at the U.N. website. I don't know if they are, but here is Gaddafi's last speech at the U.N. where he questioned why the U.N. headquarters is in New York. He also criticizes the veto power of only a few member States.

He would fit in here as an ATS member for sure.

No doubt.

Fervent nationalism breeds some sick puppies. Both 'sides' are idealogical wack-jobs. Between Ahmadeenajad and Sharon, I wonder who has the largest body-count? It doesn't matter; both would crawl over thousands of corpses to get what they want. Each of them is quick to expose their teet for the eager-to-suckle.

Way to be humanity. I can't believe these quasi-humans still exist; and that even more quasi-humans still talk about them.

The far-left continually welcomes and embraces all these completely illiberal tyrants. At first that was a mystery to me...it just didnt match up...but as I looked more deeply I understood that they have a common enemy. That common enemy is what fascists call "the international jew" and what far-leftists code in terms of of "bankers/capitalists". The delusion of the fascist as well as the socialist is that success is not a matter of work and intelligence but rather a consequence of "conspiracy".

I think this story is complete BS there hasn't been one little bit of chatter about this in any Occupy circle. Even if he did want to meet with OWS, so what?

the far right continues to demonize the left with socialist name calling while infering that the words criminal bankers means something other than CRIMINALS WHO STOLE MONEY FROM BANKS WHILE WORKING THERE

for your info i am what YOU would describe as far left and my family is jewish

so are jew telling me i hate myself? there is no code, its simple english

criminal=fraud
banker=persons who perpetrated fraud while working for banks

=
criminal bankers
for a mod to try and make this a jew hating conspiracy is a conspiracy
and to bring anti semitism into it is appaling

pffffft

Exactly. The US does not give him freedom of movement o begin with. I know he spoke at a university a few years ago but I highly doubt he'll be allowed to walk among protesters.
But the right wing agenda bringers that have plagued this site for too long will embrace this as another reason to hate those they disagree with and paint them with a broad stroke; even after it's proven he didn't meet with them.

something tells me that this may not go well....
black bloc anyone? or fake "protestors" planted within the crowd, maybe...
dunno, that would give Iran a reason to get REALLY mad, and the US a reason to call OWS terrorists?

This looks like pure propaganda from FARS, to play up the whole "US student protestors" angle to make Ajad's regime, which has seen it's share of student protestors, look better in the eyes of his countrymen.

Nothing in his itinerary nor the UN's schedule suggests he will even come close to meeting "intellectuals" or students, protesting or otherwise, here in the US. A planned protest from the "United Against a Nuclear Iran" will have him and his security delegation fairly boxed in at their hotel.

This is the sort of clumsy propaganda piece from Iran we've seen before, it's not aimed at us, but for Iranians.

And apparently for many people on this board.
