U.S. Embassy In Pakistan Under Siege

And they still are blaming that "film" for the protests !!

Even after The State Department has spent some $70,000 to air the ad in Urdu across seven Pakistani TV channels in an effort to quell the problems.

I bet the ads made it worse...

Aljazeera -- Last Modified: 21 Sep 2012 01:25

US embassy in Islamabad is latest target of around 5,000 demonstrators angry at video mocking the Prophet Muhammad.

The US embassy in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, has become the latest target of protesters angry at an anti-Islam video that triggered protests in the Arab and Muslim world.

The total number of protesters reached around 5,000 later on Thursday with the arrival of protesters carrying the flags of hardline Islamist groups. At least 50 people were injured as police fired tear gas and live rounds towards the crowds.

Hundreds of students from various colleges and educational institutions in Islamabad had begun clashing with police as security forces tried to block them from reaching the embassy compoud, which also includes the British and French diplomatic missions.

What's the real purpose of all this ?

YouTube Caption:

The US government has spent $70,000 to buy airtime on the Pakistani airwaves in hopes of countering fervor around an anti-Islam video created by a California producer. The ad features Barack Obama, the US president, and Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, saying the government of the United States had absolutely nothing to do with the video. Running on seven networks, the department of state hopes the TV messages can reach up to 90 million Urdu-speaking viewers. Al Jazeera's Imran Khan reports.

Probably going to get uglier in the months and years to come. Not that the last 10+ years have been pretty, mind you.

Video from earlier today I believe:

i know free speech and all that, but these deaths are on his shoulders.

No they are not. They are on the shoulders of the Islamic radicals who feel rioting and murder is an appropriate response to any criticism of Islam.

Such behavior should not be tolerated in a civilized society.

To bend over backwards to placate violent religious fundamentalists is disgusting.

I still don't understand why people are blaming a person who made a video is at fault for other people raging and causing deaths. Like I said in other threads, it does not matter whether or not this video exists. There will always be an excuse for these Muslims to riot and protest against the West.

I'm not even sure if it's a "minority" thing anymore.

Since when has the world become a place where people are not responsible for their actions?

That argument is just about as persuasive as "The Voices in my head told me to do it"

The blood is on the murderers hands...

No, these deaths are not on his shoulders. People need to stop thinking that way. All of the blame falls on those who feel that their views should be catered to by the whole world. And when you anger them, you see what happens. They are the ones who felt it necessary to go out and invade a sovereign nation's territory, as well as kill foreigners. I don't care what someone said about my religion, because that doesn't offer an excuse to go and kill people. I cannot believe anyone would blame the man who made this video.

I don't think it was in good taste, and I don't like it, although I haven't seen it honestly, but the fact that we have free speech in America is exactly why we don't have people doing here what they are doing over there. It is religion that has held these people back hundreds and hundreds of years, and they show signs of getting worse, instead of wising up. Their religion apparently doesn't teach that all people have basic human rights, which includes not being physically harmed by another person.

And although it is bad enough they have killed people, the people they killed had nothing to do with that stupid video at all. They are using this video as an excuse to raid and murder those who don't share their views. And others are saying this isn't about the video, etc...Well then why did the US spend all that money attempting to quell the anger caused by the video on Pakistani TV?

It doesn't matter what they are doing these horrible acts for, because there is no excuse. None at all. And I would expect more from any religion, because religion is supposed to better people, not teach them to kill...It's just ridiculous.

Its all about keeping the "Arab Spring", "Islamic Spring" (or what ever they want to call it) going so when ever it looks like losing momentum it gets cranked up again.

That would be awfully accurate as they are protesting because of the film (and cartoons now, towards the french, of course).

Entertainment.

Religion or fake religion is the opiate of the masses, and opiates
are for entertainment.

Islam is a Rage Virus.
The Islamist is entertained with their Rage.

I think the film and cartoons are just the front.

The entire U.S. Embassy "attacks" (more than 20 is it now?) are a concerted effort.

They hype up the decoys as excuses.

This is bigger than we are seeing. Much bigger.

Obama knows this. He doesn't want the killing of Osama, as one of his glorious achievements, to be watered down. I say watered down, because he wants to go into these elections, as the man who destroyed more Al Qaeda terrorists, then any other.

What are you talking about?
The people protesting are seriously upset about the movie and the cartoons.
This is nothing new, it happens every time?

The creator of that video is going to be peeping over his shoulder for the rest of his life so that is enough punishment to leave him with a mental illness for the rest of his days. As for the rest, yous are pissed off because of a few protesters and your embassies but as far as I'm concerned, it seems the Muslims are just giving yous back what you have gave to them for the past 10 years. The only difference, they haven't killed as many people and they aren't in your country either. Some advice, deal with it.

there are so many situations that have been spun to be the west's fault by power hungry men in high positions of authority using the religion of Islam as a means of control. These men want power, they are against the moderates who are trying to join their countries with the rest of the world and use fear tactics along with religious brainwashing to not only convince masses of people to react to situations in a way that benefits them but to use peoples faith to wage a continent wide insurgency campaign to get their desired end.

The middle east is full of cult leaders who actually have the avenues to potentially rule a country.
