Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson and others want you to pledge allegiance to Obama. Forget about God or the Country, put your hand over your heart and pledge your vote for Obama.

This is the kind of sick devotion to Obama that makes your skin crawl. This isn't by accident though. Obama and his supporters used a lot of messianic language and images that elicits this kind of devotion.

The Obama campaign has launched its “For All” campaign, encouraging supporters to take pictures of themselves with their hands on their hearts and a note explaining why they support President Obama.

Actress Jessica Alba uses the Pledge of Allegiance as an example of the campaign in an email to supporters.

“Growing up, my classmates and I started every day with a ritual: We’d stand up, put our right hand over our hearts, and say the Pledge of Allegiance,” explains Alba. “To me, that gesture was a promise. A promise to be involved and engaged in this country’s future. A promise to work for liberty and justice — and for affordable education, health care, and equality — for all.”

Alba joins Hollywood actresses Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson by photographing herself with her hand on her heart pledging to vote for Obama.

“That’s why all across the country, people like you and I are proudly writing down our reasons for getting involved, and then taking the pledge — to vote.”

So, I guess it's time to get out your black marker, write on your hand and pledge to vote for Obama.

You might also want to sing this song while pledging your allegiance to Obama.

Nobody should care what celebrities have to say about politics, unless they are politicians.

Period.

Obama using his 'coolness' and hollywood star roster of friends is typical of an election cycle.

Too bad Romney can't pull out his exec friends from Bain and others and have the same effect.

I have never done anything because a celebrity asked me to. She has the absolute right to use her fame toward any purpose she chooses, though. That's what you call your Freedom.

I won't pledge to vote for Obama, but it looks like it's going to happen anyway.

What do politicians and actors, and actress all have in common?

They make their livings making people believe that they are something they are not.

Pay attention to the comments in this thread from all the anti pledge allienge crowd but will defend the pledge to Obama.

I have a pledge:

OF contempt and never will I ever vote for the guy.

That is my pledge.

Meh...

Mitt uses celebrities too, remember Clint Eastwood? The only thing is that Clint turned around and called Romney dumb.

“I figure if somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.” ~ Clint Eastwood

I will never ever ever watch any of their movies or works or have anything to do with them. Ignorance runs deep. Time to boycott all movies, TV shows or concerts by any one who supports Obama or the Liberals, All those who agree say I and flag.

If you flag hold yourself to it. This includes athletes, musicians, actors, and any one who thinks like a socialists. Make a list today and write the names daily on it that declare an O zombie.

"Jessica Alba wants us to Pledge Alliegiance to Obama,"
Way to grossly reword, "They want people to pledge to vote for Obama."

Those 2 sentences mean COMPLETELY different things.
btw, good job spelling allegiance.

P.S. who cares what celebrities do?

Politicians have always gotten public figures to support them so this really is no surprise. Romney is the one that got Eastwood to come to the convention so both sides use them when they get the chance. But if you want to see something that is upsetting check this out.

For Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson I would do just about anything. Also how did the op turn pledging to vote for Obama to pledging alliegiance to Obama? This is the problem with so much hyperbole and just plain made up stuff about Obama when somebody has a legit complaint they are ignored because they are so used to such complete BS.

Only if those ladies come over to my house for a little game of strip poker.

Of course afterwards I would just lie about voting for Obama.

I pledge alliegence
To Obama
For the united state of servitude
In the repugnant,
In which he stands
One disgrace
Indivisible
Ignore God
What liberty
What justice
For all.

Venerating a flag and using the same motions to venerate a politician by promising that you'll vote for him- either way you're venerating icons of a sort. This is just more proof that iconodules aren't all religious.

Well I no longer have a crush on Jessica Alba.

But this is liberal Hollywood, so this kind of junk is to be expected.

I'm really disappointed in her, because I thought better.

But I guess not.

With this example of Fuhrer devotion, she isn't so sexy anymore...

Well, just a little.

Peace

How exactly would one vote for god or country? This whole celeb business bad only when O'bam does it?

The title post and article and what they area actually doing is a bit construed. There is a difference though between pledging allegience to him and pledging to vote for him. I suppose they have a right to do that.

That being said, as one poster put, "fuher worship" or something is about right. The emblems on the flag, the childrens songs, these "pledges", it's weird. We have a republic and the pledge of allegience is to our republic, not a person, political postions, a party, a platform, just to America itself. This idea of venerating one man is absolutely sick. Is fist bump the new heil hitler???

I am not saying that Barry is the antichrist........but this blind allegience above everything else is setting the world up to follow someone who one day might actually be the antichrist......

I can't believe these celebrities even stand up for the guy.
But then again, they are a part of fauxllywood and probably get told to do so.
They are using the same old rhetoric that was used before.

Imagine, all the fame and glamor Obama used to get elected the first time...
All the mindless people who blindly voted for him without having a clue his background.
Then he gets "voted" in and all the sudden his background emerges.
A little late, if you ask me...

...something tells me it isn't going to work the same this time 'round.
