Boncho, I don't know how you came to think I meant energy is not consumable. In the case of plastics, you buy them once and untill you throw it away
it lasts alot longer then gas and even the oil used in a car. In a way, energy and matter can not be consumed, only transformed.
Another point, lead acid batteries, they are simple, we will never run out of lead and sulfer and yet they are priced based purely based on plate
thickness (thicker plates=deep cycle), not to mention they are over priced to begin with. There can be the same amount of lead in a starting battery
and a deep cycle battery and the same case type can be used, yet there is a huge price difference. Starting batteries do not last long in electric
vehicles, deep cycles do and there is more demand for starting batteries!
As with how nestle makes money on bottled water, yeah, I agree, its cheap to make and people buy it for more then its worth, thats how money is made
all over the world. Really though, you are just "consuming" the plastic bottle because you throw it away, people only buy it because they think its
cleaner and tastes cleaner.
