No it's not.I own 2 19th century medical specimens one form here one from England. They are stamped on the pelvis, cut along the cranium. It's only illegal to own Native American skeletons and fleshy remains/non medically prepared remains in the US. The US also banned import of most historic ritualistic specimens because most are gathered through theft. It sucks because now it's really hard to find ritual pieces outside of New Orleans or NYC.

It's always good to have a back up?

Well a few reasons.
1. I've always been a bit of an oddball.
2. I collect weird crap and antiques of all kinds.
3. Not too many people own a skeleton other than there own.
