I wanted to bet on this but it is gone bad.

Better off to put a few bucks on a football game or a baseball total.

Well, have a nice day.

I'd take this bet.

Who are the odd makers?

Intrade has Obama at 67%.

What the bet means is that you would have to put out three and one half dollars for every dollar you could win for a bet on Obama.

So bet three and one half and get back four and one half.

For Romney you get odds. For every dollar you get 2.75 extra back if he wins. So a return of 3.75

The line is from Bovada. I mostly play poker there but sometimes drift over to the sports and horse racing section.

For me I was thinking about betting 50 on Obama to get back an additional 25, total 75. But the odds are way low on the return.

I did this on Bush once and had to wait a couple of months to be paid. That was more than fifty bucks.

I remembered when the vote count was stopped in Florida and Bush was declared the winner.

Before the polls closed on election day in 2004, Intrade had Bush at 28%. Gamblers are notoriously wrong - being a contrarian often brings the best results.
