Absolutely it would - but it is actually far more effective than the involuntary kind and most people do not even realize that they are being restricted.

When you visit Disneyland you don't tend to notice the gates or walls once you're inside - but you are enclosed nonetheless.

Enclosed expect for the gates. Dont be silly.

Don't know why, but that is one of the reasons I've always avoided tourist traps. Maybe because I see tham as traps. Both in the fiscal and physical sense.

I prefer tramping through the woods. Or relaxing in the middle of a lake.

I guess I'm a bad guy.

No not bad but it sounds like you're kind of cheap. Your entertainment is all the free kind. Amusement parks with rides are nice too. So are museums. I never avoid tourist traps, thats where all the fun is happening. Ever been to Ocean City Maryland? Tourist trap to the nth degree, but oh so much fun.....

I just made a similar thread a couple of hours ago; I won't disrespect you by linking it. I suppose I should have searched to see if something similar was afoot here at ATS and added instead of author...it's odd that the same thought on the subject would arise independently from one another so close together.

I didn't go so far as to indicate that they would be used specifically for American's of Middle Eastern heritage, but with the climate of tension as it is; it doesn't seem too far out there as a possibility as to whom may be interned in these camps.

Well, yeah. Nobody is going to be interned at them, because they dont exist.

I thought that was a pretty simple conclusion!

You can link it here. Some nice work in your thread.

As a matter of fact: A very plausible reason for FEMA camps, the NDAA detainment and the stock piling of ammunition

Yeah, I saw it and thought of thoughts floating thru the aether and gut instinct
and bad omens...

Don't let semantics over what these "centers" are allegedly for influence your naivete.

I could be wrong I admit, but I've heard it said that a pessimist is just an optimist with experience.

Are FEMA camps the equivalent of the Japanese internment centers for Arab-Americans and/or foreign nationals in the (likely) event of major war in the mid-east?

Nope. They need the immigrants from the Middle East on the streets so that they can fire up the fear machine and continue to try to justify the police state.

Those FEMA camps are going to be for young, male, American citizens who were born and raised here...since they are the one's most likely to stand to up to martial law.

I appreciate the accolades on authorship, my apologies for not searching first; I posted there asking the mods to delete or freeze my thread if they deemed it already covered, as I am not the type to see a headline and bite it for my own. I do agree that coming up with the same idea so close together, to be a very ill omen for what may come.

Nope. Them first, then you. It'll work smoother that way.

Don't be so impatient. You'll get your turn.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me

I am pretty sure that Bill Clinton as much as admitted that there is a mass of foriegn UN troops stationed in America to put us in those camps because our own soldiers would not ..On youtube there exist a video where Helen Thomas asked a very stupid question during a recorded presidential question and answer session with then president Bill Clinton . She asked could Bill put an end to the rumor mongers saying that a whole lot of forign troops were stationed in Kentucky and that we were going to give our country over to them , the Russians & Chinese . The crowd started to laugh her out of there but Bill Clinton said something that shut them up and made the little old lady look a lot smarter than they were . HE SAID WE NEED THEM . WE CAN'T GO IT ALONE ANY MORE . He meant the NWO can't take down America with out them . That number has been said to be 2,000,000 battle ready UN troops .Textreply to post by The GUT

Anyone clinging to the juvenile belief that they don't exist is only feeling themselves (yes, I meant "feeling" ha) the only question that remains is : What are they for?

They absolutely exist of course. So do the armored rail cars that are primarily equipped as car carriers but oddly carry a pattern of secure points that would work for a great many things..... Who knows on that in particular but I saw them one night, up close with a flash light outside Gallup, New Mexico. A few sat on a siding there for a year at least.

Even the existence of the camps are a problem though and I swear the Gov't does this very deliberately. It depends on what list or map....who you talk to....or for the few who actually drive all over the U.S. as I did for years. actually see. The problem is what some of them are and are not. I have a list buried somewhere in my bookmarks of every DHS detention facility in the continental United States. 75% of them are dual use, if one looks closer, those are county jails or other detention facilities with xx number of beds leased on contingency for the database stats.

Similarly. a number of FEMA camp locations I have seen on lists, I know by seeing with my eyes what is there. One outside Van Horn makes the lists regularly and is, in fact, a converted no-tell motel for comfy ICE detention of illegals. On the other hand...there are locations in Eastern Arizona and Western Montana that weren't nearly as confusing. Then locations like Palmdale and Glendale/Burbank that flat out don't exist at all. The lists make such a range from real to fantasy that it's no wonder people don't know what to believe.

Personally, I think they'll just convert local convention centers, sports stadiums and abandoned big box stores for American citizens needing processed. They literally don't have manpower o things like food to detain millions of Americans....just my thoughts a bit further on it.

Quite a stretch there sir.

No, those camps are not for Ma and Pa Kettle.

They are for, ready for, groups such as Oathkeepers, outspoken Military Personal who believe in the Constitution, and others who will act as leaders in a Uprising.

Arabs
not hard to monitor a group that prays 5 times a day.

I'll be one of the first in the camp then...as an Oathkeeper. I dare them to try!

I'm not sure if I am understanding this correctly - but my allegorical comparative was painfully accurate. We all currently do exist in differing forms of prisons where we ignore the walls and buy into the illusion. Just the day to day grind of work is an example of one.

Mechanisms of control and detainment don't need striped uniforms and barbed wire to be effective upon the vast majority of us. They simply need a structured, repetitive, limiting aspect to keep us in line and predictably occupied - thus detained.

Until they make you mad, Heff...then they're gonna need a hell of a lot more than a X-Box.

Oh...I'm REAL familiar with how it was done before...but that's why this time it's gotta be just a little different. They always use the same playbook...but they just call a slight variation of the play.

Look at that whole 9-11 thing. I mean...what a creative interpretation of Pearl Harbor, huh?

Oh...you mean like Obama's divide and conquer political skills? Repetitive structured welfare society. Living only check to check. Yep...that's the perfect containment.....

Oh, you mean Reaganomics? The trickle down thing? Yeah, sadly our current POTUS misled us and kept to the status quo on that one.
