I have some questions that will inevitably go unanswered.

How many agents actively monitor activity on this website? I'll put the over/under at 100 and take the over.

If a member is particularly hostile, can it lead to illegal surveillance? I'd say that's a yes.

Have conspiracy speculations ever led to new intel? Not sure about that one.

Are there members planted by the government? For what purposes?

Do foreign governments monitor the site?

Maybe ATS should start a private intelligence agency to monitor the activity of government agencies. Wait no, that would be business suicide.

There is no possible way to answer that question realistically. There are just too many variables and if agencies did want to monitor they could do so from both traceable and untraceable terminals.

Hostile in general? No. Posting things that might red flag on Carnivore protocols? Sure.

"Chatter" is a frequently used term and certainly applies to posts everywhere.

Surely there are provocateurs here. Purposes? Misinformation and disruption. Though if anyone ever said "I'm from the (insert agency here) and I have come to disrupt - they would be banned.

To varying degrees, yes.

Dig through things and you'll find several members, including myself, who already do this to the best of our abilities.

I wonder if sites like this will come to be seen as valuable sources of intelligence. Maybe, they already are. If not, they should be.

Do you know anything about the general makeup of the intelligence community with regard to when agents are indoctrinated? I've assumed, maybe wrongly, that there are some pipeline families that produce children who are to become intelligence agents from birth. Another assumption, that these elite families make up the majority of the top tiers in the organizations.

Edit: Speculation is probably a better term than assumption, but I lean toward these theories being correct.

Basically, I think a good portion of the intelligence community may have had that world built up for them while still very young.

It might be possible that some who are recruited or apply for jobs out of the general public are pretty ignorant to the overall workings of the system, which your OP seems to agree with.

I usually dont pat the backs of moderators on this site because I dont respect titles just because they are there. In short, im not someone who agrees with someone else because of their status.

But damn, this post was just awesome. The words are from the heart and just excellent. Damn. Very impressive. Good job man!

Those who have no arms, and those who are too old. too infirm, or too weak to carry a weapon in defense of their liberty, will find their own ways of adding strength to the demand for a return to the constitution..........Be assured that there are many in Law Enforcement, and the Military who would be ready to stand with a constitutionalist movement for a return to the basic principals on which the CONTRACT, between Goverment, and the People, was agreed to in the first place....

There must be an accounting of the actions of the present and past goverments in creating a highly restricted society, which
is moving towards forms of mind control used against the citizens to further goverment policies ......be they popular or not......with representation of the people losing its basic function as an organ for the people and a check on the natural tendency of goverments to try to persist beyond their mandates......

The Supreme Court has to Rule on the NDAA now that this fiasco of a waver of the judges ruling on it......
and it must be soon or there is Causus belli for a war of revolution in this country and others.....

Subtle, and not so subtle moves by the Federal and state goverments , even municipal goverments....have set the course for a collision on several levels of constitutional law....

Well accepted pricipals of self reliance and ownership of private property, as well as 2nd amendment rights and Free Speech issues, where small time goverments pass special interest laws that are blatantly anti constitutional.
These laws are Ultra Vires laws which must be struck down by a constitutionaly conscious Supreme Court, whose primary function is to interpret the Law in its essence, and NOT to allow special interests of even the White House or any other level of goverment or corporate desire to overstep the strict guidelines which were set and agreed to by the Citizens and the Goverment long ago.

These guidelines are well known by those to whom you address.....The limits of which are far overstepped by the actions of all goverments in the country.....big and small....
To this end , we the people will demand redress and restoration of the nation to which the people ageed........and at that point.....well....choices must be made.....by all of us...

Its my hope that any attempt at totalitarian control of we the people, will backlash with such force that any force of arms
or military actions would be superfluous .....Contemplating Civil War, an obvious failure.....
That those who stand for the constitutional restoration will far outnumber those who are trying to gain a measure of control over us not thought possible, nor even now totally understood by most....The full wieght of psywar is used against us daily....

The inherant evil involved in such efforts will be abhorrent to those who now are ignorant of it...but they will know soon....the whole world will be awash in the knowledge.....What is done in secret, will be shouted from the rooftops......
This tide of information is sweeping around the world, and it is gaining momentum with every revolution of the planet......The ultimate out come is in the balance.....and it looks like its up to those whose honour is clean to lead the world from darkness back to the light.

From some, of those, who have stepped up to inform the people how deep the rabbit hole goes,....and what twists and turns patriotism does take....from Col. Ollie North to Col . Prouty and too many in between, to list,...We have been
educated over time to the systematic erosion of the founding principals.

The subversion of decency and order, and the vast cover ups which involve whole agencies and arms of goverment.
Restoration of Congressional Authority and the return to basic pricipals are the paramount and unnegotiable
priorities of a vast majority of concerned people in America today.......
Make NO mistake about this one point because even the housewives and the teenagers, the mill workers and the engineers are all talking about it in secret, if not openly.......
All it takes is one spark...............

I feel as though each and every one of us have been herded down a corridor, which gets narrower by the day.
We cant go back, only forward and at the end of the corridor are megalomaniacs who want to destroy us body and soul.
I think the day is coming when we all need to stand shoulder to shoulder, all countries, all fair thinking and honest hard working people and fight this evil manipulative force that threatens not just our lifestyle but our existence on this planet.
You don't have to be Einstein to read between the lines, everyone on this site knows it. That's why we are here.
It appears their manipulations via the media over the past 50 years or so has worked with most people.
If you mention conspiracy to most people they stop listening and stick their head in the sand.
Nobody wants to believe we have been deceived by those who we vote into power or those we trust with our life's savings, those who control our everyday life have agenda's of their own.
Now its just a waiting game, when will they really show their hand?
I feel its not far away.

I trust that you are all very intelligent and discerning people. Even if your indoctrination into your profession did include mandates to trust your superiors blindly - to accept that those above you know more about the situation than you do - I believe, in my heart, that most of you still do question and possess the ability to discern what is right from what is wrong.

Hey, if we fit any more strawmen into this post we might find ourselves on the wrong side of a fire code violation or two.

Explain please?

Specifically referencing the command structure in military and intelligence, where orders are orders and questioning them actually has to follow a very specific protocol that opens the ordered up to the very real threat of a Military tribunal. Given current legislation, Article 94 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice is currently open to potential abuse.

No straw men in my house. I gave them all to some hippies who were heading to the desert awhile back.

How obvious; Hefficide works for the man. And if they can find out "everything" about you in a couple of mouse clicks... maybe you should do something different. Like... idk... if everyone in the nation started looking at .50 cal weapons and ammo at once, regardless as to whether or not they wanted to buy anything.... meh. Actually, you netops/intel guys... you need to be careful about looking at web demographics right now; sooner or later someone will make a virus that automatically makes the zombie computer start giving you red flags (weapons, maps, operational guides for weapons systems, terrorist/illegal websites, etc.) I mean really, if you took web history seriously, you'd think I'm some crazy gun-toting militant gay rapist guy with an unhealthy interest in OAAW and harriers. And can you tell the air force guys to be more covert about practicing in their F-22 jets?! Broad daylight is no-good... even if you can't hear them. I just don't want a nuke right in my backyard tyvm.

AND CUT IT OUT WITH THE CHOPPERS. If you're worried about training and touch and go landings/monitoring/whatever... you could at least do it where the whole town can't see you. I mean jeebus, if you're so worried about urban battlefields maybe you should make sure that you have civilians who are capable of providing support rather than keeping us all in the dark. Basic training is what? And how many of our civilians even KNOW what OAAW is? OAAW is critical! I guess the french resistance movement couldn't have gone better.... not. It seems like everyone who is hostile/might become hostile to us has a much greater capacity for irregular warfare than we do. I hope I'm mistaken.

Obvious that I work for the man? Am I reading that correctly?

You might want to Google a bit and you'll quickly find that my real life identity and my ATS identity are closely linked and all is there in the open.

I'm not the type to hide and I most certainly do not work for the intelligence community.

The fact that Iranians are monitoring our colleges in key areas is off-topic? For all we know they're taking our ROTC course as well... not to learn the subject material, but to keep tabs on the students and instructors in the programs.

Iranians do not need to attend ROTC here to train in military tactics. They have a formidable military in their own right.

I tried to find a clip of Henry Fonda's speech at the end of The Grapes of Wrath. For some reason it's not there, this is from memory, but it went something like this:

"I'll be all around in the dark - I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look - wherever there's a fight, so hungry people can eat, I'll be there. Wherever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry and they know supper's ready, and when the people are eatin' the stuff they raise and livin' in the houses they build - I'll be there, too."

That movie has always had a deep impact to me, ever since as a child I watched it with my grandparents. My grandpa loved that movie because he always said it was like it was written about his life. My grandparents spent a lot of time in several Hooverville's in Nevada and California.

Thanks for posting the Springstein song, hadn't heard that one.

While we're on the topic of Law Enforcement and covert intelligence operations and tactics within the United States: did you all know that the Federal Reserve really IS Federal (the ambiguity is intentional) and that under the provisions of the Patriot Act that they have a Federal police force with powers of arrest for any reason - without warrant - at any time and any place in the presence of a Federal Reserve officer?

Go Here The article goes into all of the details of an operation that has been hitherto unknown to most Americans.

Section 364 of the Act, “Uniform Protection Authority for Federal Reserve,” reads: “Law enforcement officers designated or authorized by the Board or a reserve bank under paragraph (1) or (2) are authorized while on duty to carry firearms and make arrests without warrants for any offense against the United States committed in their presence…Such officers shall have access to law enforcement information that may be necessary for the protection of the property or personnel of the Board or a reserve bank.”

The police officers are technically known as FRLEO, short for Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer. The system has its own police academies for training, their own patch and badges, uniforms, pistols, rifles, police cars and the power to arrest coast to coast without a warrant. They have ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and a recruitment ad campaign with the slogan: “It’s about respect and recognition from your peers. It’s you.”

The FRLEOs employed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. are considered employees of the Federal government since the Board is a government entity. Each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks, as settled law under Lewis v. United States confirms, is a private corporation owned by commercial banks in its region. An email to several of the Federal Reserve Banks confirmed that they regard their FRLEOs to be privately employed by the bank.

The San Francisco Fed ran an ad for Captain Specialist, noting that “you will be charged with gathering and disseminating law enforcement intelligence information to the District.” It also noted that the individual would need to “obtain and maintain top secret clearance.” Typically, that clearance level is reserved for only the highest positions in the Federal government.
