Are you getting the premonition that a lot of people seem to be getting?

It's understandable with all the things going on in the world with the protests, the bad economy, the fact that we may be on the eve of another world war, etc., that people might be getting a little anxious about things...

But I would swear that over the last few months I have been experiencing a palpable feeling of apprehension that something big and bad is imminent, and it's like the feeling has a life of its own. It's like something external that pays me a visit every once in a while.

I want to emphasize that this is not just a general feeling of anxiety, but a dread that something bad is about to happen.

I'm not talking about a premonition of something bad happening to ME, but on a large scale. It's comparable to the premonitions people have claimed to have that keeps them from getting on a plane, etc., except that this premonition is for something huge, something that cannot be avoided, something that will change life as we know it.

I've talked to other people who have the same feeling. It's interesting that on some of the radio shows and TV shows I've experienced that occasionally someone else will admit to having the same feeling.

You know you're having this premonition (and not just general anxiety), if you can't shake the feeling, and it persists in your spirit or even if it comes and goes, you definitely know when it has returned.


Is anyone here getting this same premonition?

Yes and I wish those who can stop, stop the ativities that seem to assist in what is sensed. I mean with all the 2012 hype could we have not had a global year of peace it would of only been 12 months, smh. Man its sicking to see the politics going wild- SOL observing and sending vibes to EA*RTH. The cosmos sending vibes with the nuke silos shut downs ect.. Radiation air & water GOM FAIL loss So 1 can understand why many if so sense something is up (intentionally agitated or natural re occurring over cycles)

Ever since I have been coming to ATS there have been these threads. That being said, I do have a rather ominous feeling about the future. I cant say that has always been the case or not but it does appear to be getting stronger.

If it is out of our control ... eh ... what can we do? My advice, try to relax, read, and be calm.

Absolutely. And It's not the usual kind of psychic event I'm used to and feels very different. This is, as you say, a feeling that something bad is looking at us, it's right infront of us, it's coming down the pipe, however you want to put it. I'm not even sure that the information or feeling we have is psychic, but good old fashioned human intuition, either some awareness of what the planet is up to that might make life very difficult, or something that stems from our observations of our behaviour as a species. Maybe we realise that we are walking the self destruction path and it can't be stopped.

Whatever the reason for these very intense feelings, which I've had for a few years now, I know that all I can do is prepare, stock up, make sure my family is provided for and in the safest place possible, and hope that we can deal with it. Whatever trauma we have to go through, I'm pretty certain it will do us good, so there is a bright side. We need a BIG lesson.

there's only so many doom-porn scenarios floating around the collective psyche of our culture right now.

it's logical to assume most people would be having dreams or experiences or what not of the same general types of doomsday events.

i had my first insight into societal collapse in 2005.

my first understanding of the likelihood of a collapse of civilization in 2007

at the beginning of the year, I thought we only had until the end of the year until complete chaos

now? i haven't a clue. things could continue on for some time before all hell breaks loose. we just don't know for sure.

I had difficulty describing the feeling in my first post, but maybe this will help.

Have you ever walked past a graveyard at night, or maybe down a dark street or a dark forest, and you constantly felt the need to look around and behind you?

Now imagine that feeling being with you all the time or coming and going whenever it wants to, and you'll have an idea of what I mean.

that "feeling" is basically just paranoia. seriously bro, it doesn't seem to be anything else.

there does exist a healthy dose of paranoia, but it seems you may need to go get some fresh air for a while and connect with friends and family a bit more.

People have been having these premonitions since the beginning of recorded history. Much of it has to do with credulity.

No, this is different.

If you had the feeling you'd know it. There would be no doubt in your mind.

It's like what some people describe as feeling like they're getting a warning either to do something or not do something, and they just know that the feeling is true.

This is a feeling like something really bad is getting ready to change the world, and the feeling is true.

I agree with monieisfun. I think what you describe here is basic paranoia. No worries it is a common symptom here on ATS. Just try not to let it interfere with your normal life. Dont stop going outside, or to the movies, or sporting events, or whatever it is you do. Just try to relax and remember that it will all be fine. Even if a comet hits the planet tomorrow it will all be just fine.

I've been paranoid. I've thought along these lines. I've "known" things were going to happen soon...didn't pan out.

..you know what? I've been lurking forever, and have seen MANY threads on this "knowing" and seen the ALL CAPS to emphasize it.

Guess what? NONE OF THEM HAPPENED!!

I fully agree with the OP regarding the title of the thread. I go out and about all the time, I never stay in I am always socialising, I am always with other people. I believe that life is too short to stay in and watch the box when you can go out.................I mix quite a great deal outside with other people, I converse with others and most have the similar feeling of that there is something in the air. In all my 47 years on this earth I have never ever felt the way that I do now. I don't know if it is an age thing and how quickly things are changing, but something is about to happen big time as if you can touch it.............

I’ve had that feeling for quite some time, friend. And YES, it seems to be getting stronger lately….

Some call it paranoia but I think it’s much more than that.

No offense. I'm not trying to start an argument with you guys, but I call tell by people's replies that you haven't experienced this.

I've spoken to a few people over the past few months who immediately know what I'm talking about and agree that this is somehow "different."

I'm hoping to get some replies from people who are "experiencers."

seabag knows what I'm talking about: I could immediately spot it.

Ah, tell you what, I'll throw you a bone.

I've had hardcore issues in my gut...literally...for the last 5 days. I've never felt like this before. Has my liver ached before? Sure, too much alcohol...but this is different. I feel sore nearly everywhere ever so slightly. My kidneys are panging a few times a day. My whole gut is like two inches more sticking out than it was the previous week before it started.

I've either got something seriously wrong with me, else my body is having psychosomatic reactions to subconscious doom!!!

So maybe this is my way of picking up the signals and I've yet to figure it out. . . I get bloated

I bet that at least half of the people who reply to this thread with some sort of a "Yeah. Me Too!!", are saying it as nothing more than just wishful thinking.

Probably 21/12/12 related, as the time draws closer, even those of us who don't believe anything bad will happen must be pondering the "what if" scenario.

I got it the last time an asteroid made a close pass. Even though I knew it wasn't going to hit, I was confident in mainstream the astronomers judgment, there was still the niggling "what if", and to be honest, I was slightly nervous..

I can't imagine how the believers must feel as the time draws closer, lol.

By the way, can anyone explain to me why people have started put a * in Earth?? (as in EA*RTH) It's bugging the life out of me, and Google has came up fruitless.

Given the current state of things, that imminent feeling of dread is pretty natural .. and honestly I think a lot of people have had that feeling for quite some time.. with instability in the middle east increasing ( yet again ) and the rise in anti-western sentiment over there it's not at all surprising... then of course you have the issue with Iran and Israel ready to go at it.. who wouldn't feel the way you described?

I don't think it's a premonition of anything.. just a natural reaction to the state of the world.

For me, that's not the cause .. I think December 21st will pass without event.. but I am worried about 2013 primarily because I think if any sort of engagement with Iran is going to happen it will be in the next year.. Israel firmly believes they will have warheads within 6-8 months and they desperately want to prevent that.. if they are as passionate in that belief as they sound.. come hell high water, something will be going down in early 2013 if not sooner.

This 2012 hype is worldwide, this could be a problem which turns sour. Being the fact that some people have been taking risky endeavors that have jeopardized the economies of the world to make some quick profit, I am not surprised. Maybe these risk takers should be stripped of their wealth and imprisoned with the general public instead of the elite prisoners to teach them a lesson. Why do big time criminals have better prisons? Even when they do something wrong they get unfair breaks.
