Even more so, the gun was put to Egypt's head, get it together, tend to your country and your obligation to protect the embassies within your borders, or else. I guess it worked as they scrambled and finally brought out their troops to stop the protests, and Egypt is peaceful right now, according to MSM.

He needs to be talking to leaders across the Arab World and calling them out on security and holding their feet to the fire if they don't improve security. He needs to temporarily stop campagining and fund raising to deal with this. He needs to be moving military assests to prepare for evacuations and or reinforcements of other embassies, because if this doesn'[tcalm down it may come to that.

Or he needs to pack his bags, because if this gets much worse he will be moving at the begining of the year.

Cairo - someone died there today.

Police in Cairo prevented stone-throwing protesters from getting near the U.S. Embassy, firing tear gas and deploying armored vehicles in a fourth day of clashes in the Egyptian capital. One person died there after being shot by rubber bullets.

I wonder if it was a protester. For the life of me I cant figure out why these protesters would risk their lives over this stupid movie. I heard seven died today in some other protest in the Middle East, can't remember where. WHY?

At least Egypt has called their forces out, and no more American Embassy employees are being killed, so far. (Crosses fingers and hopes)

What do you want Obama to do? Worry? Cry? send more warships?
Why do some people make stupid statements like these? The president is also a human being and he also needs to chill from time to time. He's working for the people, but being president is his job, it is not his life. Therefore he does go out and tries to forget about his problems by going to a party and having a few drinks every so often. HE is a HUMAN.

Then...I'm sure you'll have no problem explaining to the families, wanting answers, of all the Americans dying in the conflicts arising, and spreading like wild fire, that he's just an ordinary guy...out to a party or 6, having a few drinks to drown his lack of experience in dealing in foreign affairs. You can tell them, the Big O, will catch them the next time he's in town.

What a ridiculous post you wrote. He is the President of the United States of America, Commander in Chief of our armed forces. We are on the brink of turmoil such as we've not seen in years. It's his job to put his *chillin'* days on the back burner for the time being. You do know, we haven't had an American Ambassador killed on duty, since Carter was President....don't you....

This is serious, get back to work time...not party chillin' time

You're right, because there is NO way he can be talking to leaders or anyone, or getting briefed, or hearing opinions, or advice, or anything unless he is at the Whitehouse, NO WAY AT ALL!

But really, do you think he has to sit in the white house 24 hrs a day? Declare war on Libya? Send more troops? Sit and wait staring at the wall for something else to happen?

Virtually across the board, purchasable two-faced politicians and their banker-lobbyist handlers have proven to be the root of our troubles. Humanity suffers because there exists a small group of selfish individuals who abuse wealth and power. Get rid of them, and the earth will blossom.

What else is he suppose to do? I don't like Obama but wtf is he suppose to do about it!?!? HE CAN'T STOP IT. He's not God he cant be everywhere at once and make press conference after press conference. Seriously anything that he does is not going to change the fact that there are religious nuts out there that want us dead even more now.

I guess they saw Romney's RNC speech. After that, I'd be feeling bitter and desperate too if I was them.

I'm far more bitter about the right deciding two years ago to focus on getting Obama out rather than doing their jobs.

Does anyone have a strange feeling about the President's reactions ?

He might just as well have referred to the US taxpayers with the quip "let them eat cake."

Well maybe half the world is on fire...

Meanwhile ..... around the globe:

'Obama's Middle East Policy Is in Ruins'

The German Spiegal has an article with several opinons on the current situations going on.

They have views from Left to Right.

Interesting how some opinions vary.

The conservative Die Welt writes:

"US President Barack Obama's Middle East policy is in ruins. Like no president before him, he tried to win over the Arab world. After some initial hesitation, he came out clearly on the side of the democratic revolutions. … In this context, he must accept the fact that he has snubbed old close allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian military. And now parts of the freed societies are turning against the country which helped bring them into being. Anti-Americanism in the Arab world has even increased to levels greater than in the Bush era. It's a bitter outcome for Obama."

"Obama was naive to believe that one only needed to adopt a new tone and show more respect in order to dispel deep-seated reservations about the free world. In practice, the policies of the Obama administration in the region were not as naive as they may have seemed at times, and the Americans have always been much more involved in the Middle East than the passive Europeans. But Washington has provided the image of a distracted superpower in the process of decline to the societies there. This image of weakness is being exploited by Salafists and al-Qaida, who are active in North Africa from Somalia to Mali."

"One thing is clear: If jihadists believe they can attack American installations and kill an ambassador on the anniversary of Sept. 11, then America's deterrent power has declined considerably. For a superpower, it is not enough just to want to be loved. You have to scare the bad guys to keep them in check."....

The left-leaning Die Tageszeitung writes:

"The conservative US media have already -- excessively -- labeled the anti-US protests in Egypt, Libya and Yemen as a 'wildfire' and interpreted them as a result of Obama's 'weakness.'"

"It's lucky for Obama that his opponent Romney is acting in such a hapless manner. Instead of condemning the attacks in a statesman-like fashion and assuring the president of his support, Romney criticized the government's alleged 'apology' to the demonstrators. That was not just nonsense, but partisan maneuvering at a moment when patriotism would have been appropriate. With his attack, Romney has scored an own goal."

'Obama's Middle East Policy Is in Ruins'

Meanwhile....back at the ranch:

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney opted not to respond to the suggestion that the embassy attacks throughout the Middle East suggest that extremists view the United States under President Obama as weak on foreign policy.

“We are happy to debate — and there is certainly ample time and appropriate time to debate foreign policy approaches, this president’s record on foreign policy,” Carney told reporters during the press briefing when asked if the attacks stemmed from “perceived American weakness” that stems from Obama’s leadership. “We’re very proud of the president’s record on foreign policy and are happy to make the case at the appropriate time.”

Carney emphasized instead the tragedy in Libya. "This is a time when it's in the best interests of the country to focus on the four personnel, the four Americans that we lost in Libya and who are returning home today, and on the measures that we need to take as a nation to deal with the [ongoing unrest]," he said.

WH: ‘We’re very proud of the president’s record on foreign policy’
