When any entity holds a public demonstration or march, the supporters who show up will almost always represent a variety of interests and ideals. To associate the teachers union with every group or agenda based organization that came out in support is irrational.
If I throw a neighborhood barbecue and my gay neighbors accept my invitation, it does not make me gay nor does it automatically infer that I support whatever political views my gay neighbors might have.
Guilt by association, in this manner, is a weak argument.
