I looked up everything I wanted to look up. So I'm done with looking up things.

I tried to assemble groups that would do real things, but other people online are just lame people.

I tried to organize a marches, but other people online are just lame people.

Face it, the internet/world wide web is good for nothing but free music and free movies and free porn.

I'm growing sick of the inter-web because people online are just lame people in real life.

Onliners are a reflection of our real world, so I know people these days are lame as hell.

Nothing but petty and childish behavior online.

The internet and the world wide web just can't be the best inventions because people just ruin them when using them.

Why pay all that money time and time again for a computer (desk top or laptop) when there is a such thing as viruses and malware that people created?

I hate how the world has been converting just about everything they can over to online.

And the governments spooked all the would-be riders off of coming online with threats of detainments. That just leaves trolls and cowards to be the main ones communicating online. Online is not the place to talk real talk. Everybody knows this.

Can you believe that the whole world has gone to sh-t and also online has gone to sh-t?

Real people just don't belong on earth period. The earth belongs to trolls and cowards.

Discuss from any angle!

No, that's what YOU do on the internet.

The many other things that rely on internet communication today is just crazy.

Even unconscious machines rely on the internet - like satellites, business hardware dependent on software dependent on networking from internet.

The NWO is already here, folks. It's in the form of the internet. We NEED the internet nowadays. Everybody is so addicted to the internet it's like a friggin drug.
Without it, people would be in a state of indecision. They wouldn't know what to do with themselves. The internet guides and fascilitates most people's days.

Could you voluntarily go without the internet for 1 month?? No way man. You couldn't.

I'm always cautious about certain things.

People want me to march I ask questions like these:

Why? What is the march about? Will it actually bring any change? Who are you allowing to march with you? Are you going to check people who want to march with you to see if they're going to stir up trouble? What steps will you take to keep this a peaceful march? And how can I know that you aren't trying to set me up for some kind of fall? If I don't march are you going to hold it against me? What if I don't believe in what you're marching for?

Which is why I don't join marches. The government is keeping tabs on those who march. Remember, anybody who protests the government is marked for surveillance just in case you prove to be violence. Otherwise we wouldn't have surveillance all over the place and have the psychiatric community say it's a disorder to rebel against the government corruption and illegitimate authority. The government is, after all no longer for the people by the people. We do not have any representation at all, it is controlled by the wealthy corporate elite bankers.

How do you think your face gets in the facial recognition software system?

Of course that isn't the only way the government keeps tabs on you, but it is one of the many ways.

And if you get arrested for anything, the government will use this against you, well, anyway it can.

You just have to be really careful with complete strangers. You never know if they will get you in trouble over something or other.

You can call that lame all you want to.

The government is very paranoid of its citizens this day and age. That is a fact.

The Internet is a information and social networking tool. If you're not happy with it, then it's really a case of not understanding the medium or the power of it. One can accomplish a lot using this medium - but those results will always be directly in line with the medium itself.

It's like getting angry at a hammer because it isn't helping you remove a screw. You need to understand the concept of using the right tool for the right job.

( Oh, and if you're really trying to use the Internet to foment an uprising, get used to the words "Not your private army"... you're likely to read them often. )

For me, the internet is a window. I am reclusive and introverted. I leave the general vicinity of my home, but not voluntarily or very often. Aside from my children and the reasons they give me for leaving home, I wouldn't.

The internet gives me a medium where I can keep in touch with family and pursue interests. I take several free online courses. I come here and use a few other forums for more abstract and complex ideas and issues. But why does any of it have to be for anyone but me? My kids can sort out all of my personal writing, poetry, art, and philosophy when I'm dead.

I don't depend on the internet however. It could fizzle out and I'd survive. If all the cell phones went down, I could care less. Heck, the electrical network can fry and I'm rather certain I'd still survive. History certainly shows that man can easily survive without the amenities of the 21st century. We are a product rich world right now. It's seems so frivolous because there are so many diversions and pretty things. Did our ancestors just a few centuries ago have the luxury of yoga? Television? Libraries! Which is what the world wide web is, a giant archive!

I couldn't live without paper or pen though! I stockpile that and toilet paper!

Somewhere, some place, I hope someone is printing this out, all of it. The internet. It's a treasure. We truly live in an amazing time, but just one rock or rocket hurtling from the sky; can send us back to the stone age. Might as well be prepared for the possibility.

I understand where Cirque is coming from. I USED TO consider the internet a window but as time has passed....now I feel like you do.

I came to the internet to get away from people. The average, ordinary, everyday idiot that I can't be arsed to deal with. And now they're here. STALKERS!!!!

We went from 2 MILLION people online to 2 BILLION people online in less than 10 years. That means all those people I was trying to get away from, are emailing me on a regular basis..... Where do I go now?

I don't know how long Cirque been online.... but I'd be interested if they have the same attitude in 15 years.

The only thing that has improved in my time here, is now when someone asks me to fix their computer for them, I can tell them to go "google" themselves
(as opposed to in the past when I said "if you can't fix it, you shouldn't have it", but then I fixed it anyway, smack me)

It used to be you had to have money, or at least half a brain to get online, now all you need is a credit check and a 2 year agreement from walmart..... and of the billions here now..... still only that original 2 Million has half a brain and belongs here. Thats just my opinion though, and I have no misconceptions about my misanthropy.

I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the cat videos, and the people calling me a troll when really they're the ones trolling. I'm sick of seeing these cute little brain tricks being forwarded around like they're new and I know damn well I have that on a 3.5 floppy somewhere..... I don't save anything anymore..... who does?

Why should you save anything? its at your finger tips. Just turn on your monitor and type in a keyword.

Anyone ever consider that we have been in this exact same place as a species before? Then the system crashed and all was lost. Its no wonder we're missing a huge chunk of our development as a species. We're so quick to adapt to the instant gratification and convenience, that we completely fail to CARVE IT IN STONE.

...... ok sorry - off on a rant there. I mean every word though. And I promise you, as soon as I figure out where to go, I'm out of here.

S&F for you OP - I'm feeling it.

~ Peace

And that attitude right there is a brilliant example of just how successful TPTB's fear and propaganda machine has done it's work. They got you running scared. Scared of them, scared of us, scared of your neighbors, scared of being under surveillance, scared of having your toys taken away, scared of being dragged out of your house, black bagged and hauled off to the camps.

We're at risk of all that every time we step out of our homes and many times while still in it. Nothing is going to change if we all curl up fetally in the corner scared out of our minds. Asking questions is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but let's try to approach it with some common sense, rationality, and, oh, I don't know... Maybe, just maybe... DENY IGNORANCE. It starts with you and within you, folks.

Hi Forever.

I've been on the computer since 2000. Maybe a year before that a few times when friends were just showing me what it was about. I've been in lots of different forums but mainly philosophy, religion, and writing forums.

However, there have been periods of time which I didn't use the internet for long periods of time in between 2000 until now. Mostly because of the military. I could spend my time in places like this all day, but it isn't healthy. By the end of the day I am frazzled and nervous simply because of the content found on a particular forum site like this.

Conspiracy theory by definition is complicated, often outrageous, and unsettling.

I always noticed the idiots online. I guess that is because I've been on forums of various topics since I've been online. I've never come across an OPEN forum that was free of them. Hell, I couldn't honestly say I myself at one time or another haven't acted the "idiot" ! Or, at least, somebody else thinking I was an idiot.

You have a good point about being "healthy". I definitely do not consider my internet time anywhere near the healthy range. Maybe I should start an internet rehab
I bet I'd make a fortune.

You've been online nearly as long as I have, I'm just missing some things that should be balancing it I guess. In all my years though, this is the first forum I've ever joined. I have experience with chat rooms, irc, that sort of thing, putting in 15 hour days sometimes, but all that went away .... about 2004. At which point the few people I communicated with I met either previously, or we had an MMO in common.

I do get obsessed. It used to be productive things.... maybe not productive but certainly skill building .... these days, not so much.

I meant to come back and add to my post last night, because it did occur to me - the ATS community is the closest thing to what I knew way back when. And since finding ATS I have looked into other forums hoping to find similar people. In that way, ATS opened my eyes to a way of FINDING the worthy people. But its so hard.... it really is. For every good one, I had to dig through a hundred bad ones.... and I think I'm being generous in that ratio.

I'm getting away from my point..... which was I LOVE ATS, and there are several people I've found a good friendship with here - but my obsession with it was short lived because what you say is true - by the end of the day I'm frazzled by the content. Though its almost never the topic being debated - its the debate itself. So, I keep my ATS time to the bare minimum, except days when I'm really really bored or feel really strongly about a current event, and in those cases I might not even post, just read.

The overall point I was trying to make.... What the internet is now, is what SELLS, and that makes me sad. If we were all still hanging out in IRC sharing programming codes, most people would not have come.

My apologies if this reads badly at all. :::insert excuse here:::
