Al Qaeda Releases New Video of American Hostage

Apparently an American is being held hostage near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The man, Warren Weinstein was evidently taken a month ago.

Now, Al Qaeda has released a video showing Mr. Weinstein appealing to Israeli prime Minister Netanyahu and U.S. President Obama.

Strange timing perhaps?

KABUL – Al Qaeda has released a new video of American hostage Warren Weinstein delivering a personal message to Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.

In the video, Weinstein, 71, believed to be held in the tribal regions along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan, appears healthy and calm, speaking in a soft, controlled manner.

"Unfortunately President Obama and the American government have shown no interest in my case," Weinstein says in the video, seated on a chair with his back slightly slouched, wearing a thin white t-shirt.

"Therefore, as a Jew, I'm appealing to you, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the head of the Jewish state of Israel, one Jew to another, to please intervene on my behalf." ....

With a name like Weinstein, (sounds jewish) he probably wont last long. Oh, never mind, if I had bothered to read all the way through, I'd of seen that he actually is.

MAn I have a sad feeling that this guy is going to be beheaded. I really hope they don't this time but thats what they always do in situations like this. Maybe if Obama can get a Delta or SEAL team in there to rescue the guy that would help his re-election.

DO they have any idea of where he's being held near the border. Anything they can go on to stage a rescue.

Don't put it past israel to go in there and save our guy. I hope someone does.

What are the Taliban's demands in order to ensure this guys release?

Its because Palestine is on the brink of anarchy.

Israel are going to send them millions in aid to try to help their government maintain control.

They want to swap the US soldier for some terrorists/rebels ( whatever they are called today ) that are being held in Guantanamo Bay.

Sorry to be pessimistic but I got a feeling this guy is effed.... Tragic turn of events for this elderly man.

I hope through some miracle he is released, and not given a dishonorable execution.

Looks like a full on coordinated attack.

This reminds me of Tehran, it has the makings of some really bad things to come.

I am now depressed with all the # that is happening seemingly everywhere right now.

Well no matter who is behind it the man is screwed. He may as well get himself right with God. No one is going to go save him. He just is not worth the effort in their eyes. HE is EXPENDABLE.

This guy is hardly a soldier. This is perhaps an effort by the military backed ISI to reduce and damage the US influence in their territory (afghanistan) through the talibans.

Warren Weinstein (born July 3, 1941) is an American contractor, and director in Pakistan for J.E. Austin Associates.[1] He was kidnapped by al-Qaeda on August 13, 2011 in Lahore, Pakistan.
