Missing superman and smallville (and really not all that crazy about what I'm seeing for the next superman movie) I watched Christopher Reeves, Superman last weekend. I'd give it an 8. Hey, who can resist Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor and Ned Beatty as the dumb guy?

13 Assassins- Japanese movie by director Takashi Miike. Set in the 1840s, 12 samurai/assassins and one bandit/forest spirit (maybe) are on a mission to kill the Shogun's evil brother. It's the classic Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven/Dirty Dozen structure where the first half of the film is assembling the team and making the plan and second half is the execution. In this case, the last hour is one giant battle.

It's a pretty awesome action movie. There's a ton of carnage, though it's not the blood spurting, hacked off limbs kind. The villain is almost cartoonishly evil, but it works for the movie. There's one fairly disturbing scene involving one of the villain's victims. Overall some great action and a lot of fun. 8/10

The Dark Knight Rises. Good movie. The ending is really so-so...3/5, still it really beats that Total Recall remake that just ended being a mixture of Blade Runner and the Fifth Element, with very very poor acting...1/5.

The odd life of Timothy Green

I only teared up 3 times!

I give it a 4/5 since I thought all the actors did an awesome job but it was pretty predictable.

The movie is unbelievable, but do not watch if you are very sensitive with religious matters. In a way it reminded me of the debates on ATS.
A university professor reveals to his collegues that he is 14000 years old.The entire movie takes place inside a living room and it might sound boring, but trust me it will blow your mind away.

This is my new favourite movie.

Love that movie. It's so simple. So short. But so effective.

Watched this last night. While it was good, it left me wanting. It didn't seem to sych well with the rest of the Alien frachinse. 7 out of 10 ( as a stand alone movie - I'd say 5 of 10 as a continuation of the franchise )

"Lawless" was the last film I watched. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. Pretty good. A little cheesy here and there. But overall a decent movie. Guy Pearce made a fantastic villain. Tom Hardy was great. Shia Lebouf was tolerable. Gary Oldman should have had a longer part.

Overall, the story was good, but could have been better. It is worth watching though.

The last movie I saw was "Prometheus", It was decent but I was expecting betting I'd give it 3.5 out of 5, It also looks like they'll be doing a Sequel, Hopefully that will be better.

Last one I watched was called Departures. IMDB-Departures

It's a Japanese movie with American subtitles, available on Netflix instant watch.
I loved it.
It was funny and sad and thought provoking. The characters are all fascinating, the acting is brilliant and I plan on watching it again very soon.

Last movie watched on cinema was Prometheus, I give it 4 out of 5, because I didn't expected to see Aliens among the story, and so was, and even for the best phrase about a possible answer from our creator(s):

David: Why do you think your people made me?
Charlie Holloway: We made you because we could.
David: Can you imagine how disappointing it would be for you to hear the same thing from your creator?

i too just watched god bless america.
i gave it 4/5 stars.
i would have given it 5/5 but the ending was just a little over the top for me.

the dialogue was spot on.

I saw The Master yesterday. It was a strange story about the beginnings of Scientology.

Definitely a cult.

Joaquin Phoenix's character gave me the willies, reminded me of a creepy uncle of mine just in time for Halloween.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was great as Dodd and his performance was the only thing worth the money and the time.

Not a film for the masses. Hard to rate.

Finally saw Ted. Funny movie. Mila Kunis. WOW. I give it a 3. Would have been a 4 but Wahlberg was in it.

Just watched Prometheus, which was better than I thought. It was going to be. It took me 3 days to watch it, because I always fall asleep during movies, but it was worth sticking with. I'll give it 6 1/2 out of 10

Dersu Uzala by Akira Kurosawa - 1975

loved the movie, good acting, good story and wonderful filming location(Siberian wilderness).
I give it a 9.5/10

After that, yes the film lasts more than 2hours, I watched
Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes or Aguirre: The Wrath of God by Werner Herzog - 1972

Also a very good movie of the famous story of El Dorado. Kinski is superbe is this movie and Herzog never let me down, one of my favorite film/documentary writer/director.
This one gets a 9/10 from me.
I recommend these two movies to anyone but beware there are no special effects/cgi in them. No big explosions, fast cars or boobs.

Not bad movie, kinda wish you were there sitting by the fireplace and ask questions yourself.

Not as good as Casino Royale but way better than Quantum of Solace. Javier Bardem is an excellent villain and not one that wants to take over the world for a change. New character additions and old memories are integrated in a fashionable way. I expected much more action from a Bond film but I highly recommend it anyway. Bond fans should enjoy. 3/5.

Let's just say that when I left the theater I felt like it's now illegal to be white and happy in the United States.

Last movie I watched was "Wreck-It Ralph". Granted it is a cartoon and a bit low brow. But it is a hilarious movie. If you were a video game player in the 80's and 90's, you will probably laugh at a lot of video game references they put in the film.

Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Watch it. You'll like it.
