Of course it'll lead to something bigger, the US gov doesn't like a bruised ego. Kill'em all!! I wonder, if every US embassy was attacked, would America wage a war on the entire world? (even more than they're doing at the moment)

The US embassy in Sanaa, Yemen is now being stormed, with police firing warning shots.

news.yahoo.com...

SANAA, Yemen (AP) — Protesters angered by an anti-Islam film have stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

In just 24 hours, this stuff has sprung up in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and now Yemen

They need to pull their heads out of their asses or we can do it for them. If the goal is to get the US out of the region attacking US personnel, including diplomatic staff now, will not do it.

The chicken has come home to roost.

Elaborate. Didn't "liberal" westerners encourage this "change " in egypt through social media?
Why are they in war mode? (egypt military)

I said it in the other thread, I will say it again. That is called "Blowback".

The US / Europe / NATO helped create a Sharia state there. Now they get what they called for.

edit on 12-9-2012 by ALF88 because: (no reason given)

Im agreeing that its blowback.

The CIA is the problem.

It doesnt matter what nations government is being overthrown, we always have the CIA involved. They have been doing it since WW2. Look at what they tried in Cuba. look at what they did in Chile. They are still doing it. This is why you get people throwing shoes at Hillary Clintons car and chanting "monica" when she visits Egypt.

I know Americans wont believe that the CIA does this stuff but they do. The CIA messes with politics in Europe and all across the world. It seems that Baby Boomers are complete idiots or they just didnt care but the new breed does care.

The CIA is the problem. Americans let the CIA do what it wants. The rest of the world is sick of it.

Yes it always comes back to the CIA in just about every country. Here in Oz they shuffle our affairs around to suit the US agenda. The US Ambassador recently told our Attorney General how she should amend our extradition laws so it's easier for Australian citizens to be extradited to the US. Of course she did as she was told. This causes a great deal of anti-American feeling against America as a nation and absolute contempt for our politicians.

First of all... this isn't a movie... This is a piece of # that should have never even have been created in the first place. From what I've read.. The guy is someone who goes by the name of "Sam Bacile" (stuff that is probably already in the thread..)

They say it's no his real name and that he isn't even in Egypt at the moment. Apparently he is in California.. or was..

He says his motive is to rid the world of muslim religion because it is a "cancer"

In his brief interview with the AP, the man who identified himself as Bacile defiantly called Islam “a cancer,” and said that he intended the film to be a provocative political statement condemning the religion. But several facts Bacile provided about himself soon proved false or questionable. Bacile told AP he was 56, but identified himself on his Youtube profile as 74.

Link to article

I don't think this is all he had in mind.. He was funded $5 million to produce this crap.. at $5 million it could look a hell of a lot better that this.

The two-hour movie, Innocence of Muslims, cost $5 million to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, said Bacile.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of that money was stashed away.

Here is another atricle that seems to speculate all the right things.

The question is.. was it planned or are they taking advantage of the situation?

If it was planned then we could probably say that the ambassador was due to be taken out. In that case we have to ask, why now?

100% agreed. It's about time we raise our Embassy Marine guards from squads to a battalion or so each....with on call air support out of Italy or another appropriately convenient base.
Personally speaking I think we should increase staffing / ROE's however stationing military assets of that magnitude sends the wrong signal.

An embassy is suppose to be inviolable (exceptions do exist). The purpose of an embassy is to interface with the host countries government and the US government (or insert your nationality here). The moment we increase Marine / military assets (large assets) at embassies we run the very real risk of violating the treaties surrounding it while making it an even larger target for people to gun for because now we have foreign military in the mix.

I think it could be problematic to try and explain to the host country the reason there are tanks / artillery / troops etc etc present and even then I doubt the host government wouls even allow it.

It's ironic...one of the first wars the United States ever fought was on and around that soil. It was small in size but huge in meaning...and Jefferson cleaned their clock while helping to give the Marine Corps a fine and proud history to celebrate to this day. Now, it appears we need to go back.....OR LEAVE (My preference...) but, if we're going to stake our people out like sacrificial goats for feeding time, we damn sure have the moral and ethical obligation to supply their backup to see they aren't murdered in cold blood.

Semper Fi -
If people listen to the US Marine Corps hymm it talks about their creation and why it occured. It also explains why Marine Officers carry a Mameluke Sword.

"From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" -

Barbary Pirates / Barbary Coast / Encounter with Islam

Merchant vessels way back in the day were preyed on by pirates, especially along the coast of North Africa. US tried to by the peace with the african nations involved and it worked to an extent. Finally a serious diplomatic effort was made -

In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). Upon inquiring "concerning the ground of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury", the ambassador replied:

This next part is something a lot of people do not know about (and I maintain this was the start of the war on terror ) -

It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once. I was wondering... Why this location? Why the middle of the night? It sure didn't seem random..and now we know by the man died, it really couldn't have been. They chose THIS moment to attack a secondary compound? Yeah... We just had a U.S. Ambassador assassinated. Now, will our President respond or hide under his desk and pray for peace and mercy?
I would wager its easier to get heavy weapons / rockets closer to the embassy at night where they can hide the items better. As we see the protests and where they were at (embassy wall) reminds me of the "early bird gets the worm" saying. Go during the day and run the risk of not being able to get into a good position to carry out an attack. It also allows armed individuals to be in the crowd to cause chaos when things do occur, making it that much more difficult to know who is doing what.

Someone else pointed out the death of Al Queidas #2 and the assasination of the Ambassador was in retaliation.

Also if Egypt and Libya go chaotic it is going to open the flood gates on Israel. With the exception of Jordan Isreal would have hostile arab governments on all sides (except Jordan).

As a bonus here is a shout out to the Star Trek peeps -

Obviously, the film was used as a ploy, but who's behind it?

About 15 key players from the Middle East – from Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran and a couple Coptic Christians from Egypt – worked on the film, Klein said.

“Most of them won’t tell me their real names because they’re terrified,” Klein said. “He was really scared and now he’s so nervous. He’s turned off his phone.”

It quoted Klein as saying he believes that California is riddled with Muslim Brotherhood sleeper cells “who are awaiting the trigger date and will begin randomly killing as many of us as they can.”

It looks like Sam Bacile is really Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.

What do they already know about this man?

Nakoula, who talked guardedly about his role, pleaded no contest in 2010 to federal bank fraud charges in California and was ordered to pay more than $790,000 in restitution. He was also sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and ordered not to use computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Leigh Williams said Nakoula set up fraudulent bank accounts using stolen identities and Social Security numbers, then checks from those accounts would be deposited into other bogus accounts from which Nakoula would withdraw money at ATM machines.

If these Fanatics just ignored this type of Film, they would show themselves as much more decent people.... Civilised and such but these latest riots and that aren't really doing the muslims any good.... a lot more people will just be looking at them as a bunch of children who like Violence instead of Debate!!

Some Imam could have requested to chat with the Film's maker and asked him to not go through with it.... that would have been a start.

The US Embassies need to shut and embassy employees sent back to the USA immediately from throughout the Arab nations including North Africa.
