Again with the flag burning?

I am getting a little tired of snot nosed punks burning the flag of the United States of America. That flag is the one thing we all have in common, rich or poor, democrat or republican. The latest group of imbeciles is burning the old red white and blue in Libya......

When I read the reason WHY I wanted to buy an airline ticket and personally put a stop to that nonsense. Apparently they are rioting, attacking our embassy and acting like animals because a movie is being made that insults their prophet Mohammed. Since the film is not being produced, stored, promoted or screened at the US embassy in Cairo that behavior is clearly WAY out of line.
I saw almost all of Monty Python's movies, including Life Of Brian and NEVER had the urge to burn the British flag or invade their closest embassy. I have seen a million pictures expressing views I don't agree with, about religion, all over the internet. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I mumble something and hit the back button on my browser.
Whatever is contained in this movie they're all freaked out about can't possibly be as offensive or insulting as the behavior they are displaying to protest it.

I should make USA flags out of non combustible material and sell them to embassy's in middle eastern countries almost like the candle that doesn't blow out on a birth day cake except for Muslims.

No, I don't believe the movie is the only source of tension, but that is what was mentioned in the article. I'm not a huge follower of world affairs but it seems the failed economy, high unemployment, corrupt leadership and civil war might be stirring the pot over there.

Don't understand why you people gotta bring in the whole "muslim" speech in. NO one is to do a movie based on my prohpet s.a.w, it is forbidden. The flag deserved to burn.

They evidently care a lot about their religion.

A little mutual respect could probably go a long way in preventing these types of things.

First, I didn't bring Islam anywhere, the pictures show protesters carrying the Koran, holding signs and tearing up the flag. In addition the news source indicates the reason for the protest is Islamic dogma.
Second, the flag does not deserve to burn, nobody at that embassy was involved in the production of the film. If they don't like the film, boycott it or send a letter to the production company. The protest is just giving free publicity to a film I didn't even know existed before today.

The fact that you think that the Muslim religion is peaceful is funny. Even before the united states screwed with the middle east it was still a war zone it was just done with swords on camels you are just a violent as us if not more

Put that Koran burning lunatic behind bars and then part of the problem mght be solved... What is funny about the entire situation is the fact that the person causing all the issues is a christian leader because he and his fanatical views cant stay in his fat head.

Correct, but here's the difference; I have a houseful of Muslim college students right next door, tomorrow I will wave and say hello like always, I won't blame them for what happened in Cairo.

Well I guess the American dying in Libya has nothing on a bunch of Egyptians burning a flag... Don't worry they replaced the flag as well. With an Islamic one.

and ? flags are just coloured bits of cloth... remnants of humanities primitive.. barbaric past that only cause pain death and division... not worth fighting or dying over...

In that case they should do exactly what the Canadians just did and advise our people they have 5 days to vacate the premises. Until they leave the government should provide perimeter security and safe passage to the point of departure.

I don't believe ANY object is worth killing or dying for, I also don't believe desecrating a nations flag is the best way to get your message across.

The flag burning doesn't bother me anymore as I have realized that it is the idea that the flag represents...not the flag itself.

The capitalist in me says to open a US and Israeli flag shop in every Islamic nation and sell them with the express purpose of them being burned, heck, toss in a free Bic lighter... There is a obvious market for it after all.

You then take a share of the profit and donate it to the makers of JDAMs, Tomahawks, MOABs, etc.
