It's not bad to be prepared for an earthquake, but why do you think it's an earthquake over the Salton Sea?
Primarily because the supporting evidence suggests that this is a weak excuse. The Salton Sea has been experiencing a die off for decades, this is not
new. There have also been swarms of EQ events in the region, and the mud pots have been increasing in the area too.
All of these suggest that there is a geological event taking place. To ignore all the other aspects of what is going on and simply accept the line
that it's a smell from the Salton Sea dying off would be more than foolish. It would be like watching a cow fly past, a tornado ripping up the next
town, and someone telling you the wind you just felt was them farting.
