I call HOAX. I can tell, I've seen facts before having done a few experiments in my time.

-.-

On the whole, I think the OP has a good premise. I was ready to move on after having read the edited topic, but there is more to the OP than a heck of a lot of threads in this forum.

Not that it's a sign that anything catastrophic will happen, but that if it smells like an egg, shakes like an egg then it's likely an egg... Or an omelette at least.

There has been a lot of mention of the activity around that area of late. Wether this relates to the actual amount of activity being above average, I don't know but the balance has to shift at some point - it cannot keep seeming as if things are about to break only to become the norm once more. Things have to break eventually.

Yes,things have been happening in that region of late.I too follow reports on seismic activity.I was not making light of the content of OP.Rather I was trying to be humorous regarding the sensationalism of making a prediction of an earthquake occurring in an area that is widely known to have earthquakes.Pardon me if my sense of humor went over your head.

Wow, what an over analytical brain you have...Watch out for strokes there buddy.

On september 17th, a huge spike in novelty on Watkins timewave zero will take place, so expect immense seismic activity.

How so?

As "time-wave zero" has nothing to do with reality, it cannot affect it either.

In many of the areas where the small quakes have been happening in CA; there has been a lot of fracking going on. Some think that the fracking is causing these small quakes.

As for the smell of rotten eggs in correlation with a coming big quake...I have not heard of that before. Now I need to investigate.

Edit: here is a good article I found this morning regarding the cause of the rotten egg sulfur smell.

METHANE WHAT IS METHANE? Methane is an odorless, colorless flammable gas.

It is used primarily as fuel to make heat and light. It is also used to manufacture organic chemicals.

Methane can be formed by the decay of natural materials and is common in landfills, marshes, septic systems and sewers.

Methane can form an EXPLOSIVE mixture in air at levels as low as 5 percent.

You can smell leaking methane only when commercial gas utility companies add a chemical smell to it or when it mixes naturally with hydrogen sulfide, causing a "rotten egg" smell.

If you can smell it, the level may be too high to be safe.

Here's what I think in regards to the rotten egg smell... No one will be surprised when a big earthquake hits CA...In shock maybe because it finally did but not surprised...lol

During the summer, the lake stratifies, or separates, into layers of water each with a different temperature. During the fall, as the surface layer cools and becomes more dense (heavier), it falls to the bottom of the lake. This forces the water from the bottom layer to the surface. This process is called ‘turnover’. Since decomposing organic material is present on the lake bottom, the water brings along several gases to the surface, primarily Hydrogen Sulfide, that are released into the air. This brings us that ‘rotten egg’ smell.

Statement.

This is not based on dreams or visions but on facts.

Statement. Thinking that we usually cannot predict earth-quakes, this is going to be fantastic!

Of course i am not 100% sure that this will happen,

Oh wait, what?

it is just an assumption based on the fact that

Oh.. now we are going the opposite direction here.

people across south California have been reporting a smell of rotten egg across the state. Rotten eggs aka Sulfur.

Rotten eggs are not also known as Sulfur. I think rotten eggs are rotten eggs.
The smell of rotten eggs might be hydrogen sulfide and have several potential sources.

You didn't mind telling what is suspected to be the source, Salton Sea?

I am in no way a medium but if these dots really connect then i expect something big to happen this week.

Well clearly. If there will be a quake, of course we'd expect there to be one.

Also i do not know much about earthquake

That's a shame. It all started with such confident "facts".

lol people of your kind make me laugh so much. Absolutely don't give a damn about the issue here, all you care about is discrediting me for some star and a boost to your ego. Too bad for you i won't play that game of yours.

I made sure to insert the words you are using against me not to be called a fail medium. I believe in science and made assumptions based of phenomena that happened before an other earthquake. Also, i have a a master in political science and a bachelor in common law so of course i am going to say that i do not know much about earthquake.

tip to you : Kill your ego, it is poison to the soul.

"Absolutely don't give a damn about the issue here, all you care about is discrediting me for some star and a boost to your ego."

So you dont want people discrediting your idea that might be catastrophic and you actually want to be right,so why hope your wrong. Almosy every post especially your OP has contradicting statements.

Tip to you, gather your thoughts in a clear fashion and relay them so they dont contradict and make you look like you have no idea what your own real thoughts are.

Nice explanation, but does not answer the question of why this is a first? That salty sea has been killing fish forever, but we don't get the stench here in L.A.. Why now? The weather was nothing remarkable this week either.

PS: No one where I work believes its from the Salton Sea, just saying.

Yes, dream....thank you for posting that.

In every volcano scenario in the movies, they smell sulfur first or drop deap from poison fumes.

Is any of this based in fact.

First thing I thought of when I read the news was volcano not earthquake....or it could be both I guess?

I've been hearing all my life about "The BIG One". Born and raised in SOCA 65 years ago.

If I lived my life in fear of what might come - - - I would have had no life at all.

There is always going to be earthquakes. There are some areas more susceptible then others.

My advice: be prepared for anything - - earthquake - flooding - fire - hurricane - UFO invasion.

Have a sealed waterproof box for each member of the family - - to support each for at least one month - - longer better.

Read survivor sites for what you might need. They will suggest things you may never have thought of - - such as a space blanket.

Bingo.
Who's to say where it's coming from?
Have we heard of the stink in the areas between LA & Salton Sea?
A little voice in the back of my head has been asking that since Monday.

Really?? Says who? You? Shame on you for using pretentious condescension to try and discredit the OP, accusing him (?) of posting false information and clogging the thread with your pomposity and pettiness. He stated that he is not an expert on earthquakes, not any form of a medium, not able to predict the future. He stated his opinion, and asked for feedback. Not for a self-appointed "editor" taking his post apart sentence by sentence. Then someone else decided it would be appropriate to give you a writing lesson...in the same thread ffs
Really guys??

Your assertion that Timewave Zero has nothing to do with reality...do you have any facts to back that up? I'm curious because the last time I checked, "reality" is subject to revisement at any time. Who are we to say that a temporal version of the gravitational pull does not exist in reality? "Time" only exists in our reality at all because we measure it. In fact, until we embrace (prove) a new idea or theory or belief as a known factor (a fact), we can say that it is not "real". Sorry, but that would discredit a whole lot of people out there wouldn't it? Open your mind a little. This is supposed to be a discussion about the topic...not a tool with which to attack another person for having an opinion, no matter how much you may not agree with said opinion.

OP, you have to know phrasing the title as a predictive statement would get all sorts of attention right? There are many, many discussions out there right now about this very same topic and it is getting heated because people are becoming genuinely frightened. I doubt you meant any harm by being somewhat misleading with your title...you just wanted people to respond right? So don't muck the waters further by responding to these "critics" with more aggression. Keep it friendly and you'll come out on top.

Now, regarding the "sulfur, aka. rotten eggs" comment: the reason rotten eggs smell like sulfur because as the organic components break down, a little gas called Hydrogen Sulfide (Sulphide in the UK) is produced, which actually can be broken down chemically into elemental sulfur. So yes, your comment was actually scientifically accurate...thought you might want to know.

Hydrogen sulfide is slightly heavier than air; a mixture of H2S and air is explosive. Hydrogen sulfide and oxygen burn with a blue flame to form sulfur dioxide (SO2) and water. In general, hydrogen sulfide acts as a reducing agent.

At high temperature or in the presence of catalysts, sulfur dioxide can be made to react with hydrogen sulfide to form elemental sulfur and water. This is exploited in the Claus process, the main way to convert hydrogen sulfide into elemental sulfur.

I would say that your "prediction" could be quite accurate indeed. Never mind the obvious, which is basically: "Duh!! Of course Cali will be hit by an earthquake!" Everyone who lives there knows that. It's the smell of sulfur that is troubling...and the reports of people smelling it as far as 100 miles away. What better catalyst for that H2S than the heat and combustion of seismic activity? People are right to be frightened. I sincerely hope that nothing happens because I have many, many friends and family still living in the LA area, and many of them are not in a position to get out in a hurry. Sensationalism and so-called "doom porn" aside; no one really thought Mount St Helens would blow either...and looked how that turned out. I hope nothing happens and we can all laugh at ourselves later but until then, diligence in keeping the flow of information going is the most positive thing we can do. Rock on!!

Well good news, the smell might not be caused by intense seismic activity precursor to a huge earthquake according to the AQDM “I think we’ve shown it was theoretically possible,” that the smell came from dead fish in the salton's sea.

I ran across this quote the other day whilst looking at a documentary titled Cascadia: The Hidden Fire" produced by Global Net Productions

“Super earthquakes in Cascadia are nature’s equivalent to the World Trade Center disaster. But the potential losses are so much larger that they will affect the social fabric of the entire Northwest and dramatically alter the US and world economy.”  – Robert Yeats, PhD., Oregon State University.

It (9/11) just was not the first thing I'd compare an earthquake to.
Then I read that the Pacific Ocean is 9,000 x 11,000 miles at it widest points.
Another 9/11 reference.

OP, I'm with your view just not the date. I see the 15th being signalled as their target date for destruction, hopefully I'm wrong. It's 555 days since Fukashima.
