Egyptian protesters tear down US flag in attack on Cairo embassy

Thousands of Egyptian demonstrators tore down the Stars and Stripes flag at the US embassy in Cairo, replacing it with an Islamic flag on the 11th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States.

Maybe they think it is time the US changed their flag. They probalbly thought a flag with some arabic writing might look nicer as the whole world is literally sick to death of seeing those bloody stars and stripes everywhere.
And then I hear stories of dying for your flag etc.. It's all a big joke.

Anyway just out of curiosity, Where were the diplomats?

I am wondering how they got close enough to the flagpole without warning shots being fired.

The diplomats and everyone else was out because they knew it was going to happen. read that earlier today
