Heres something else the media won't show. This is anothewr village nearby that the Americans visited and this is what happened to it after they left. You want 911? Ask them folk that live there what they think of this?

What is the video about? Cannot watch them until later and I do not believe any rational thinking human being would want a 9/11 event to happen again.

The second one just above your post is some kind of fiery destruction of a little walled village.
I say some kind because I saw the end all fiery and the beginning with the village but I can't bear to see the middle...it is enough for me to know we are destroying their lives over there and it makes me cry.

The first video shows the reporters, with a British accent, asking first the young American soldiers if they have heard of 09/11...the were mostly silent but yes, they knew. It was startling to me to realize that those young soldiers would have been around 8-9-10 years old in 2001!

Then they asked the Afghan people, well, the males, if they knew of 9/11...they showed pictures of the smoking towers...none of them knew. Only the man who was in charge of the police there knew.

It said 92% Afghanistan people had no idea of 9/11.

They have had fighting in their country for 30 years now.

We have been there 11.

I'm not surprised most Afghans know nothing about 9/11.
They had nothing to do with it.

How is the Taliban connected to 9/11 is what I want to know.
It was 'al Qaeda' supposedly and the Taliban is a different animal, no?

I will go with what you say, religion, politics, colour what does it matter, believe in your neighbour, the next village /town/city/country, we are all here for the same thing..........to live and grow.

Well then that is absolutely terrible. But from what I have read and heard from 2nd hand babble. Al-Qaeda was/is a CIA created group that was used to help fight of the Red Army WAY back in the day, before my time. From what I have heard Osama was actually a former CIA trained operative or maybe it was Sadam. We created the Al-Qaeda to fight a common enemy at the time. Remember a common saying of our time, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Every day is 9/11 to them, compared to how we live. And every day is Christmas for us compared to how they live. There is not a balance in the world. We are the "middle class" buffer standing between the ultra rich and the ultra poor. Neither side could exist without us.

Can you imagine if it was only the ultra rich and ultra poor? With no middle class to serve in the armies to keep the poor at bay while the rich make their great escape with the world's resources as they toss us a few crumbs...?

Oh gosh.

What a mess!!!



What can we do?
We should not be there for 11 years already.
But if we leave, do we leave people to their own devices?
And the women?


But what strikes me is that this unrest was going on since the end of the cold war, when the Soviet forces were driven out...and we don't get interested until after 9/11 because WE were touched by it...nevermind all the trouble these people had between Charlie Wilson's war and this war now...

So, we can't say that we went there to help....did we go to get even?
And if so...are we getting even?
Or just digging everyone's hole a little deeper every day we stay?

I believe our countries' leaders forced us there because of oil. Lots and lots of crude oil. James Cameron's Avatar comes to mind. We say we are coming there to be friendly, but we are only there for materialistic gains.

We are there for the opium too.

The Taliban had the opium trade under strict control. Heroin, and other opiates are much more available ever since the invasion. I can also tell you stories (to a limited extent for obvious reasons) of my own step brother guarding the poppy fields. He was wounded by an IED over there, sadly he had it coming since he had no reason being there in the first place. I'm just glad he is still alive unlike many other loved of people from all over the West who participated in this unjust war.

I am sorry to hear about your step brother, though it is good that he is doing well. This whole war is f*$%ed up. The USA attacked her own people in pursuit of more materialistic gains. I for one cannot wait for a unifying event that swings the balance from male, left sided thinking to more of a feminine right sided thinking. Maybe then all of humanity will finally realize how futile it is to wage war, even more so on our own kind and our own planet.

I do wish that on a global scale we could all shift into a new type of mentality where we all respect each other regardless of our differences. The OP's post (in my opinion) shows that the people over there still manage to find some goodness and humanity even though they have been under invasion for decades.

They try and blame 911 on Afghanistan and Bin Laden when most the evidence points to the US/Israeli shadow government being responsible. Yet the war still rages on...and these elders still manage to treat the dead with respect.

On the other side of the coin, there are extremists who decapitate what I consider to be innocent Westerners just because they are from the West so I am not saying the Afghans are completely innocent. It's just that they have the moral high ground in this situation and any damages caused to the Western invaders only happened because they decided to go to another country and participate in a gruesome invasion based on lies which leaves it difficult for me to feel pitty.

My step brother and I have spoken about this, and my harsh views on this situation, and he understands. He has woken up a lot since his time in Afghanistan. He is willing to admit that he was there up to no good, and he is willing to admit that he was tricked into believing the lies he was told as for why he was sent over there.

If we were to put the picture of the American military urinating on dead Afghans beside the first picture in the OP it would help put the whole situation into perspective.

From reading the comments this is sort of just a rant to myself;

The typical Afghan no more supports the Taliban than the average ATS user.

While Afghans are Muslim to a man (and women), few are Salafi or Wahhabi extremists.

It would be fair to say that most Afghans, if not the vast majority, are happy to see the Taliban being kicked out of their town or village and are happy to see the Americans do it.

You honestly think the Afganistanis are happy of the massacres happening to their families at the hands of the corporate cartels? You think this is a religion thing but it isn't it's about compassion and reality. Ha you think this is a Muslim sectarian fiasco hahahahhaha man you need a wake up call. It's not muslim drones flying the skies in Paki and Afghi lands!

Blame it on sectarian violence and tell us the locals are happy for it
