Perhaps a closer study of history is required.
I believe the title would fall to Abraham Lincoln, 80% of the pop voted in that election, and him winning pretty much insured the nation went to war with it self.
Part of the problem is the extremes in the media coming out with such hyperbole and vitriol when ever talking about current politics .

Isn't the two party system divisive in it's own opposite ends of the spectrum in their platforms?? Do you think that is by accident? It was set up that way to divide the people so that these corrupt politicians can rob us blind while we fight each other over their "divisive" tactics!!
Meanwhile, our Republic falls...................................
Look at the President as a lighting rod he's there to take the hits. While the house remains safe.

I hear this said by Republicans all the time that Obama is the most divisive president ever. This is coming from the party that said their number one priority is to deny Obama a second term. This is from the party that spread hateful rumors that Obama is a secret illegal muslim president who pals around with terrorists and is an evil socialist dictator. Isnt it the over the top rhetoric that is divisive??
I'm just wondering if Republicans see the truth in this? Do most normal Republican voters see that while Obama tried to work with Republicans, that Republicans took a position of no cooperation? Do they see that its people like Rush and those at FOX News that helped promote this idea that Obama is the most divisive president ever?
It seems the most accurate truth is.. the Republican party has never spent more energy creating a division between parties as they have with Obama.
I'm curious if Republican voters see the truth in this or if they really believe Obama created the division on his own?
