You guys either dont understand or you guys are intentionally ignoring the meaning of the term Zionst Regime.

No, you are the one ignoring the difference.

Originally posted by XcathdraThe term "Zionist regime" has been in use by arab governments for the better part of 3 decades. They use that term instead of Israel because if they used Israel they would be acknowledging Israels existence. They would be stating in an offical capacity that Israel exists as a sovereign country.

You are spinning it till it fits your agenda.

Originally posted by Xcathdra When ahmadenijad was asked about his comment back in 2005 he stated he never said wipe Israel off the map.

Only that he never said that, and the fact that you repeat it time and time again in every thread regarding this topic, despite being proven wrong a million times would usually make me question your intelligence. The problem is you know it is wrong. It is clear what your true intentions are. Sooner or later that will come back to haunt you.

Sorry Regime does not mean country. Maybe you should have checked your beloved Wikipedia on that as well.

While the word regime originates as a synomym for any form of government...

You need to do some research. The leaders in Iran are crazy, but not anywhere near as crazy as the leaders in Israel. Also when it comes to Iran don't trust the translations western media gives you. They tend to sound about a thousand times more sinister than they are. They never called for Israel/jews to be wiped off the map (there are tons of Jewish people living in Iran), they want an end to the Israeli government which, in Iran's defense, has threatened to attack them constantly for about ten years. Imagine being an Iranian civilians with no control over anything and hearing about how Israel is threatening to drop bombs on your country or knock out your water/electricity/transportation.

You think and EMP is the humane approach? Thousands more would die than a strategic strike.

US, UK, Israel, even Canada's getting in on the act.

The new "Axis of Evil".

How to stop them? Once these governments finally collapse under their debt burdens, maybe then they'll start to focus on themselves?

Though this does serve as a great distraction.

You are 100% right.

Throughout history governments have used war as a distraction especially in regards to financial problems. The problem is that nobody believes them anymore...

I should have said, conveniently forgot to mention. You're right, it dosen't matter to be in violation of the NPT, but it does matter to validate the concerns, Iran is trying to build nuclear weapons.

You were not responding to the question, if Iran has violated the NPT/ IAEA treaties, you've cited the report as evidence, that they have a secret nuclear weapon program.

If there is no proof Israel has nucluear weapons, than there is no proof Iran is trying to obtain one either, unless you applying different standards as to what constitutes proof. That's exactly what's going on right now.

Iran is building atom bombs, that's why they need to be attacked. But Isreal has none.

Iran supports Hamas for their own purposes, so has Israel, but that's different.

Iran doesn't recognize the Jewish State and needs to be held accountable for everything they might plan in the future. The best would be to strike now.
Israel has shown its complete disregard for palestinian lifes and no real interest in a Two-State Solution, but that has nothing to do with each other.

I too dont believe, although for different reasons, Israel is going to use a nuclear weapon, but they sure could.

Thinking the idea, to explode a nuclear bomb over a sovereign country to destroy its infrastructure and believing there wont be severe consequences, is nuts, is now nuts? Interesting.

But as we've learned, Israel has no nukes it could use, so only your other two options are left.

Ok let me put it this way: I think Israel is choosing the humane approach. Instead of senseless killing they can solve there problems with a simple emp. Sounds like a win to me.

An EMP attack to get the Iranian defences down, then more real bomb attacks to follow.....

end this dispute once and for all, and without any human sacrifice

You should know that if all the power goes out many people would die.
If there is not an adequate supply of fuel for generators, people on life support, preemies, people undergoing surgery and those requiring meds that need to be refrigerated (insulin), will not last long.

Just sayin....

People who say that Israel has nothing to fear from Iran are just willfully ignorant, or have an a priori bias against Israel for whatever reason:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:

"You want a new Middle East? We do too, but in the new Middle East ... there will be no trace of the American presence and the Zionists,"

“The Zionist regime is a cancerous tumor and it will be removed.”

"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury," he said. Any Islamic leader "who recognizes the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world."

conducted a military parade during which Shahab-3 missiles (which have a
range of 1,300 kilometers—enough to hit Israel) went past the presidential
viewing platform.45 Certain missiles were draped with banners proclaiming
“Israel should be wiped off the map” and “Death to Israel.”

"Our dear Imam [Khomeini] ordered that this Jerusalem occupying regime must be erased from the page of time. This was a very wise statement." "Soon this stain of disgrace will be cleaned from the garment of the world of Islam, and this is attainable."

"Iran will support Hamas until the destruction of Israel."

"the real Holocaust is now taking place in Gaza Strip and Palestine."

KAHMENEI:

"Iran's position, first expressed by the imam, and stated several times by those responsible, is that the cancerous tumor called Israel must be uprooted from the region"

"the perpetual subject of Iran is the elimination of Israel from the region, the mission of IRI is to erase Israel from the map of the region."

"If one day … the Islamic world will be equipped with weapons available to Israel now … the employment of even one atomic bomb inside Israel will wipe it off the face of the earth but would only do damage to the Islamic world."

RAFSANJANI:

"If one day … the Islamic world will be equipped with weapons available to Israel now … the employment of even one atomic bomb inside Israel will wipe it off the face of the earth but would only do damage to the Islamic world."

Israel is not an innocent, however anyone who says that Iran wouldn't eradicate Israel, along with every Jew, is simply wrong, biased, ill-informed, or ignorant.

the above examples are just a few of the many hundreds that are out there...

You say there are Jews in Iran, well there were Muslims in the World Trade Center. I mean if you think people are "war mongering" some may be, but few are on this thread. As far as I am concerned the two biggest worries for starting WW3 are Iran, and N Korea. Israel has been threatened over and over again by Iran. If Iran pushes to hard they may have to protect themselves. An EMP is certainly better than blowing Iran off the map. If an EMP were deployed and knocked their power grid off, I guaranty that when deemed safe from being attacked the UN would come to Iran's aid just as they did with Iraq. So "war mongering" no its called being realistic.

It's not being exploded over a soverieign country ... it's being exploded in the upper atmosphere, and has no relevance to Iran, at all.

Yes, there are consequences ... and none of you have had the though of coming up with even one of them. Just more rhetoric on nonsense.

Which is "why" the leaders in the middle east were removed ... which is indeed a reason to worry. As NATO is involved ...

I don't see anything apart from the usual mistranslations. Israel wants to wipe Iran off the map. Using a nuclear weapon comes close to that.

This is "ignorant", to say the least ... unless Israel has a functioning "Neutron bomb", they'd have to blow it in the upper atmosphere.

Iran would have no problem with things, but it would knock all their electricity out ... but not forever, nor would it make fuel non-functioning, etc.

The EMP would simply be a strike, to remove all Iran's defences ... then (as someone else pointed out), the real hellfire would take place. Iran would be defenceless, and Israel could target all the essential sites, without opposition, and with no civilian loss of life.

The problem here, is that without the "Neutron bomb". This isn't a good scenario, as it burns a hole in the upper atmosphere, leaving not merely Iran, but also Israel completely defenceless against Ultra Violet rays, and other gamma radiation from space.

IFF this was a workable scenario, then it would be the perfect scenario for Israel to use. (i.e. a Neutron bomb). But since there is no such bomb, at least that we know off ...

... this is just another crap, that is trying to picture Israel as all bad, and poor Iran ... the terrorist supporting nation, these poor inocents, only looking to build more nuclear energy than all other nations combined ... to have light bulbs for children hospitals ...

Yeah, right ...

You are extremely rude.
I chose no side here.
I never said EMP would make "fuel non-functioning".
My point was that if the power goes out, there will be causalities.
No need to be so defensive and assy.

Ahmadinejad stood by his (wipe israel off the map) comment at a rally the day after he made it, (oct. 28, 2005) amid banners that said "death to israel" and "death to america"...what do you make of that?

If such drastic measures are to be used to stop Iran getting WMD I sure hope the intelligence is better than it was before going into Iraq.

Do anyone on this site think for a second Russia or maybe china will allow a nuke to explode anywhere outside Israeli space. That thing will start a chain reaction way bigger than we want to acknowlege. And if anyone here is naive enough to believe Israel will be allowed to use a nuke in whatever way without being attacked by the same means is living in Lala land.

And what proof do you have that those banners, who had Farsi text on it, actually said that?

And who says that it was Ahmadinejad, who decided to use those banners?

Sorry mate, but Ahmadinejad NEVER said that.
