The biggest drag on an agreement is that teachers don't like being held accountable for their poor performance as a teacher.... they call it an insult to their profession... I say the results of your performance is the real insult.
So that means 30,000 teachers wont be going to work tomorrow and over 400,000 students wont be learning anything

And keep in mind the way many teachers describe those kids they claim to care about..as ignorant little dumb animals....except of course when their own interests are threatened...then it turns into, "it's all about the children, we do this because we love them, we don't do this for the money, the children need us".....*sigh...just watch a video or two of how these "teachers" behave when their cart is rocked...many demonstrate exactly the behaviors we don't want our children subjected to.
So the teahers union (according to the OP's source) are upset over getting 71,000 dollars/year and that they have to take evaluations to determine if they are capable of teaching.

Not upsetting enough to expose that the whole system is to modify behavior and not to teach basic academics. Not upsetting enough to see what they are doing is facilitating a complete socialist education system for that paycheck. But lets just ignore the results seen all over the world that has made America's education system a laughing stock. After all, it's all about the teachers...oops I mean children right?
Students are taught simply to pass State Standardized tests and taught nothing of true value, this is extremely upsetting to teachers across the nation, but sure let's kust keep demonizing them because they're Union.
