Rare and very interesting photos

Wow, just wow. I know I post a lot of these threads but you guys seem to enjoy them and this is just something else!!

First McDonalds 'Restaurant'

Worlds first Computer

Pope John Paul & the man that tried to kill him

The Beatles in 1957 hahah

Osama bin Laden and his family

Che Guevara and Fidel Castro

The King Himself!

The Pope &... Hitler

As much as I would like to comment on each and every one of these photos I really do not have the time so I shall leave that up to you guys. The rest of the photos are here and are definitely worth checking out. I'll leave you with this one.

Moment George Bush heard about the attacks on 9/11.

Ask yourself this.. does he really look surprised?

very cool photos and I love the way to you tossed a little barb at bush in there as well. Was that the point of the thread? To pull a little 9/11 trollery into an incredible collection of photos showing history, before it became historic?

If you go to the source you can see that the bush picture was the last one posted up there as well. Then I just added some of my own commentary as is usual for ATS.

I don't even post in the 9/11 forum, it being opened again is of no concern to me if I'm honest.

I hadn't even noticed what that picture was exactly! What a beautiful picture

I wonder if that dude survived and whether he had a change of heart at all.

No Bush does not look surprised. They reminded him like ten times to look surprised but he plum forgot.

I've always wondered about that picture, is it real?
It just seems to, planned.. a KKK member on the operating table of a team of African American surgeons.

Back in the days of the KKK would african americans even been allowed in the OR, let alone UNI to study

( apologies if thats ignorant in anyway....... )

I've seen that picture before, years ago. My understanding is that it's very real. And there were AA's in the ER back in the 60's(I think), when this was taken. I'm wanting to say this is a Time/Life picture. But don't quote me on that.

Bush doesn't look surprised, but he seems to be looking at the little girl in the front VERY suspicious like.

Bush had actually been told about the first plane prior to going to the kids classroom. Andy Card was telling him about the 2nd plane hitting.
